ÖZ
Yönetim muhasebesi, yöneticilere stratejik hedefleri karşılayacak kararlar almak için ihtiyaç duydukları bilgileri sağlamak üzere tasarlanmış muhasebe disiplinidir. Yönetim muhasebesi, maliyet hesaplama modelleri aracılığıyla bilgi sağlama işlevini gerçekleştirmektedir. Modeller aracılığıyla cevap aranan en temel soru: “maliyetlere sebep olan şey nedir?” şeklindedir. Son yıllarda, çeşitli yönetim muhasebesi teknikleri bu soruya farklı yanıtlar sağlamıştır. Kaynak tüketim muhasebesi (KTM), bu soruyu cevaplamak için geliştirilen yönetim muhasebesi yöntemlerinden bir tanesidir. KTM’nin diğer yöntemlerden en önemli farkı, kaynak havuzlarındaki atıl kalan kaynakların tanınmasıdır. Bu çalışmada, örnek olay çalışması yöntemi kullanılarak kaynak tüketim muhasebesi bir üretim işletmesinde uygulanmıştır. İşletmenin mevcut maliyet sistemi dikkate alınmış ve üretim süreci gözlenmiştir. KTM sistemi aracılığıyla elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek, bulgular yorumlanmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular, KTM sisteminin kaynakları tüketme biçimleri ve atıl kapasite maliyetleri hakkında yöneticilere sayısal bilgiler sunduğunu göstermektedir.
ABSTRACT
Managers need information to make decisions. Management accounting is the discipline of accounting designed to provide information for managers to meet the strategic objectives. Management accounting provide information by using cost calculation models. There is a fundamental and very basic question—what causes costs? In recent years, various management accounting techniques have provided different answers. The resource consumption accounting (RCA) is one of the managerial accounting methods developed to answer this question. A key difference of the RCA from other methods is the recognition of the idle resources in resource pools. In this study, KTM was applied in a manufacturing company using a case study method. In this context, the existing cost system was examined, and the production process was observed of the company. The data obtained with RCA system were analyzed and the findings were interpreted. The findings obtained from the study show that RCA system provides quantitative information to managers about resources consumption and costs of idle capacity.
