TARİHİ YAPILARIN İŞLEV DEĞİŞİKLİĞİYLE KENT MÜZESİNE DÖNÜŞTÜRÜLMESİ: KASTAMONU İLİNDE BULUNAN KENT MÜZESİ ÖRNEKLERİ

Abstract

ÖZET

Savaş, yangın, doğal afetler, bakımsızlık, toplumsal inançlar gibi sebeplerden dolayı tarihi yapıların bir kısmı günümüze ulaşamamış, bir kısmı da atıl, bakımsız ve kaderine terk edilmiş vaziyette yok olmaya yüz tutmuştur. Bu durum da, koruma kavramını gündeme getirmektedir. İlk çağlardan beri söz konusu olan koruma kavramı, ülkemizde ve uluslararası platformlarda da gündeme gelmiş, yapılan çeşitli örgütlenmeler ve anlaşmalarla tarihi yapıların korunarak gelecek nesillere ulaştırılması hedeflenmiştir.

Tarihi yapılarda koruma amaçlı yapılan çeşitli müdahale türleriyle, tarihi yapıların korunarak ömrünün uzatılması sağlanmaktadır. Bu müdahale türlerinden biri olan işlev değişikliğiyle, özgün işlevi günümüz ihtiyaçlarını karşılayamayan tarihi yapılar, kentin ihtiyaçlarını karşılayan farklı işlevli yapılara dönüşmektedir. Yapının özgünlüğüne zarar vermeden, en az müdahaleyle yapılması gereken bu dönüşümle birlikte söz konusu yapılar, tarihi öneminin yanında çağa uyum sağlayan ve kente hizmet eden mekânlar olarak hayat bulmaktadırlar.

Ülkemizde sayısı her geçen gün artan kent müzelerinde de mekân olarak çoğunlukla tarihi yapılar kullanılmaktadır. Bu tarihi yapılar, geçmişiyle bir yandan yapıldığı dönemden hareketle kentin belleğine şahitlik ederken, diğer taraftan ise geleceğiyle müzeye mekân oluşturarak bir önem ortaya koyar. Tezin ana konusu olan Kastamonu ilindeki mevcut, projelendirilmiş ve yapılması planlanan kent müzelerinde de müze mekânı olarak tarihi yapılar seçilmiştir.

Bu çalışmada ilk olarak koruma kavramı ve tarihi yapıları koruma yöntemleriyle ilgili bilgiler verilmiştir. Daha sonra “kent müzesi” kavramı açıklanmış ve tarihi özellik taşımakla beraber, daha sonra işlev değişikliğine gidilerek kent müzesine dönüştürülen, ülkemizdeki örneklerden bazıları, kısaca incelenmiştir. Tezin ana kurgusunu Kastamonu il sınırlarındaki kent müzeleri oluşturmaktadır. Kastamonu il sınırlarında kent müzesi olarak seçilen tarihi yapıların genel özellikleriyle ilgili bilgiler verilmiş, özgün ve işlev değişikliği yapıldıktan sonraki durumları incelenmiştir. Müze mekânı olarak seçilen yapılarda yeni işleve uyum değerlendirmelerinde bulunulmuştur.

ABSTRACT

Some of the historical places dont exist today because of wars, fire, natural disasters, religious beliefs of people and not being taken care of. And some of them been left to their destiny because of people didnt restore them well or didnt restore at all. These circumstances caused the born of the idea of protection. Protection has been on peoples attention since the primal ages and been taken care of in our country and other countries. Purpose of it is to make historical places survive for the next generations by doing various kind of cooperations and agreements.

With various types of interventions made for the purpose of protection in historical buildings, it is ensured that the life of historical buildings is preserved and extended. With the change of function, which is one of these intervention types, historical buildings whose original function cannot meet today's needs are transformed into structures with different functions that meet the needs of the city. With this transformation, which should be done with minimal intervention without harming the originality of the building, these buildings come to life as spaces that adapt to the era and serve the city, besides their historical importance.

Historical buildings are being generally used on city museums, vastly which are increasing in our country day by day. While these historical places reflect the essence of their time being built, they also serve as city museum. Projected and planned historical buildings in Kastamonu are the main topic of this thesis.

In this thesis, informations are given about protection term and protection ways for historical places. Later, the concept of “city museum” was explained and some of the first examples in our country, which were transformed into a city museum by changing their function, were briefly examined. Main topic of this thesis covers the city museums in Kastamonu. These museums have been explained in general and their presence been examined after new changes. Lastly, evaluations been made on the places chosen as museum for about their new adaptation into life.
