Tarih Öğretiminde Disiplinlerarası Yaklaşım ile Edebiyattan Yararlanılmasına İlişkin Öğrenci Görüşleri

Abstract

ÖZ Günümüzde eğitim ve öğretimden beklenen, bireylerin bilgiye ulaşabilen, bilgiyi yapılandırabilen ve edindikleri bilgileri diğer bilgilerle ilişkilendirebilen bireyler olmalarıdır. Bundan dolayı her geçen gün eğitim ve öğretimde disiplinlerarası yaklaşım önem kazanmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra hızla gelişen ve değişen dünyaya karşın öğretmenlerin de bu değişime ve gelişime ayak uydurmaları kaçınılmaz olmaktadır. Tarih bilimi, araştırma yaparken birçok bilimden yardım almaktadır. Objesi insan olan tarih bilimi, insanı ilgilendiren her şeyi konu edinebilmektedir. Tarih öğretiminde de diğer disiplinlerle ilişki kurulması bundan dolayı gerekli hale gelmektedir. Tarih başta edebiyat, coğrafya, sosyoloji, din, iktisat vb. olmak üzere bir çok disiplinle ilişkilidir. Yapılan bu çalışmada, disiplinler arası yaklaşım ile tarih öğretiminde edebiyattan yararlanılması konu edinilmiştir. Konu ile ilgili lise öğrencilerinin görüşlerine başvurularak, tarih derslerinde edebi ürünlerden ne ölçüde istifade edildiği, öğrencilerin tarih ve edebiyat derslerine karşı ilgileri, tarih ve edebiyat derslerini ne ölçüde ilişkili buldukları öğrenilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışma beş bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, tarih ve edebiyat öğretiminin amaçları, tarih ile edebiyat arasındaki ilişki yer almaktadır. İkinci bölümde disiplinler arası yaklaşım ve bu yaklaşımın kazanımlarından, disiplinlerarası yaklaşım ile tarih öğretiminde edebiyattan yararlanılmasından bahsedilmekte ve tarih derslerinde kullanılabilecek edebi ürünlere örnekler yer almaktadır. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde yöntem yer alırken dördüncü bölümde ise öğrencilere uygulanan anket çalışmasının bulguları ve analizleri bulunmaktadır. Son bölümde ise anket bulgularının ışığında, sonuç ve öneriler bulunmaktadır.

ABSTRACT Nowadays, what is expected from education and training is that a person should be able to easily access information, structure information, and associate them with other kinds of information. Hence, interdisciplinary approach in education and training has been progressively gaining significance everyday. Moreover, despite the rapidly developing and changing world, it is an inevitable fact for teachers to keep up with this dynamical upgrading conditions. History is intertwined with many other branches of science in which the main object is human. In general, history can deal with everything that concerns human beings. Therefore, it is vital to establish a relationship between the other disciplines and history. History has been associated with many diverse disciplines including literature, geography, sociology, religion, economics and so on. In this study, usage of literature in history teaching was extensively discussed in the light of statistical analysis. Particularly, the following points were tried to be addressed: to what extent literature studies were utilized in history courses, the interest of students in history and literature courses, and to what extent they found history and literature courses are related to each other by referring to the opinions of high school students on the predetermined subject. The study consisted of five major sections. In the first section, the aims of history and literature teaching, the subjects of history and literature courses taught at secondary education levels, and the relationship between history and literature are discussed. In the second section, the interdisciplinary approach, the gains of the interdisciplinary approach, and the utilization of literature in history teaching with interdisciplinary approach are mentioned. While the methods are given in the third section of the study, the forth one composes of the statiscal analysis of the questionnaire study applied to the students. The last section contains results of the questionnaire study and discussion of the survey findings.
