Sorgun İlçesi Tarım Coğrafyası

Abstract

ÖZ Bu araştırma tahıl ve şeker pancarı üretiminde önemli bir merkez olan Yozgat ili Sorgun ilçesinde tarımsal üretimi etkileyen fiziki ve beşerî faktörleri belirlemek, tarımsal ürün deseni ve mevcut potansiyeli ortaya koymak, tarımsal sorunları tespit edip, bu sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerileri geliştirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma sahasının fiziki ve beşerî coğrafya özelliklerini ve tarımsal potansiyelini ortaya koymak için arazide yerinde gözlemler yapılmıştır. Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme formu uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin yorumlanmasında betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ulaşılan bulgular incelediğinde ilçe tarım arazilerinde en fazla tahıl üretimi yapıldığı, bununla birlikte özellikle nohut üretiminde Türkiye’de ikinci sırada yer aldığı, şeker pancarı, silajlık mısır üretiminin ön plana çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma alanında tarımla uğraşan kişi ve kurumlarla yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda katılımcılar Sorgun İlçesinde tarımda yaşanan sorunları; “tarımsal danışmanlık hizmetlerinin yetersizliği, iklim, sulamada kullanılan suyun kirliliği, girdi maliyetlerinin yüksek oluşu, bilinçsiz ilaç ve gübre kullanımı, tarım arazilerinin bölünüşü, tarımsal desteklemelerin yetersizliği” olarak ifade etmişlerdir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgulara dayanarak şu önerilere yer verilmiştir: sulama politikası geliştirilmeli ve Devlet Su İşleri (DSİ) tarafından su toplama alanları yapılmalıdır. Kanalizasyon suyu karışan dereye arıtma tesisi yapılmalı, girdi maliyetlerinin düşürülmeli, bilinçli gübreleme ve ilaçlama için çiftçi eğitim seminerleri düzenlenmeli, tarıma dayalı sanayinin gelişmesi için gerekli yatırımlar yapılmalı, arazi toplulaştırma çalışmaları yapılmalıdır.

ABSTRACT This study was carried out in order to determine the physical and human factors affecting agricultural production in Sorgun, to reveal the agricultural product pattern and the current potential, to identify agricultural problems and to develop solutions to these problems. In order to reveal the physical and human geography characteristics of the study area, its agricultural potential, on-site observations were made on the land. In order to determine the problems experienced in agriculture in Sorgun district and the solution proposals for them, a semi-structured interview form was applied to the interested parties. Descriptive analysis was used to interpret the obtained data. When the findings of the research were examined, it was found that the most grain production was carried out on the agricultural lands of the district, however, chickpea production ranked second in Turkey, sugar beet and silage corn production came to the fore. As a result of interviews with people and institutions dealing with agriculture in the field of research, the participants discussed the problems experienced in agriculture in Sorgun District; ”lack of agricultural consulting services, climate, pollution of water used for irrigation, high input costs, unconscious use of medicines and fertilizers, division of agricultural land, lack of agricultural support,"they stated. At the end of the study, the following suggestions were given: irrigation policy should be developed and water collection areas should be made by the State Water Works (DSI). A treatment plant should be built in the stream that mixes sewage water, input costs should be reduced, farmer training seminars should be organized for conscious fertilization and spraying, the necessary investments should be made for the development of agriculture-based industry, land consolidation studies should be carried out.
