dc.description.abstract ÖZET Bu çalışmada ray çeliklerinin tribolojik performansına tungsten karbür (WC) kaplamanın etkisi kuru ve saf su ortamlarında gerçekleştirilen roller on plate aşınma deneyleri ve potansiyodinamik polarizasyon korozyon testleri ile araştırılmıştır. Tungsten karbür kaplamanın ray çeliklerinin aşınma performansına etkisi sürtünme katsayısı, hacim kaybı parametreleriyle nicel olarak, SEM ve 2D-3D topoğrafya görüntüleriyle de görsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Kaplamanın korozyon performansına etkisi korozyon potansiyeli, korozyon akım yoğunluğu ve korozyon hız değerleri ile sayısal olarak, SEM ve EDX görüntüleri ile de elemental-görsel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Aşınma deneylerinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre tungsten karbür kaplamalı ray çeliklerinin kaplamasız ray çeliklerine kıyasla sürtünme katsayısını 23% oranında azalttığı, aşınma mekanizmalarının daha yüzeysel olduğu belirlenmiştir. Korozyon deneylerinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre tungsten karbür kaplamalı ray çeliklerinin kaplamasız ray çeliklerine kıyasla korozyon hızının daha düşük olduğu, korozif etkinin daha az bir alana yayıldığı sonucuna varılmıştır. ABSTRACT In this study, the effect of tungsten carbide (WC) coating on the tribological performance of rail steels was investigated by roller on plate wear tests and potentiodynamic polarization corrosion tests performed in dry and pure water environments (In this study, the effect of tungsten carbide coating on the tribological performance of rail steels was investigated by roller on plate wear tests in dry and pure water environments. The effect of tungsten carbide coating on the wear performance of rail steels was analyzed quantitatively with friction coefficient and volume loss parameters, and visually with SEM and 2D-3D topography images. The effect of the coating on the corrosion performance was evaluated numerically with corrosion potential, corrosion current density and corrosion rate values, and elemental-visually with SEM and EDX images.
