ABSTRACT
The abusive management perception, which emerges in the communication process between employees and managers and is thought to affect business performance, is a complex process that needs to be explained already. In this research, it is aimed to develop an understanding on the perception of abusive management from the perspective of accommodation workers. In this context, the relationships between abusive management perception and burnout (exhaustion due to unfulfilled demands of the employee's expectations, which may occur in the form of failure, low energy and loss of power) and intention to leave the job (the employee's thought of leaving his current job due to various reasons) are tested.
In this study, in which the data collected from 462 employees working in 4 and 5 star hotels in Ankara destination within the scope of the survey technique were analyzed in the period of April 2020-2021, it was observed that there was a low-level significant relationship between the abusive manager perception of accommodation employees and their burnout. Similarly, it has been determined that there is a low level of significant relationship between abusive management perception and intention to leave. Within the framework of these results, suggestions for accommodation businesses are presented.
