Osmanlı Dönemi Trabzon Yapılarında Duvar Resimleri

Abstract

ÖZ 18. yüzyılda Osmanlı mimarisinde görülmeye başlayan duvar resimleri, başkent İstanbul’un ardından 19. yüzyıl boyunca İmparatorluk topraklarına yayılmıştır. Bu yeni resim türü, başkentte genellikle saray, köşk, konak gibi sivil yapılarda görülürken Anadolu, Balkanlar ve Ortadoğu gibi imparatorluğun diğer bölgelerinde sivil yapılara ek olarak cami, türbe ve tekke gibi dini yapılarda da uygulanmıştır. Duvar resimlerinin konularını Osmanlı resim sanatının yaygın türü olan resimli el yazmalarından farklı olarak manzara, natürmort ve sembolik (dini/tasavvufi) konular oluşturmuştur. Osmanlı duvar resmi konularını genellikle manzara, natürmort ve sembolik tasvirler oluştururken kimi zaman ise bölgeye ve hamiye göre değişiklik göstermiştir. Genellikle halk sanatçıları tarafından tasvir edilen bu resim türü, imparatorluğun farklı coğrafyalarında kimi zaman coğrafyanın özelliğine ve kimi zaman bölgenin kültürel yansımasına göre de değişiklik göstermiştir. 18-20. yüzyıllar arasında önemli bir liman kenti olan Trabzon, dışa açık yapısıyla ve ticaret merkezi oluşu ile dikkat çekmektedir. Özellikle 19. yüzyılda ekonomik, kültürel ve entelektüel siluetiyle farklı bir profil sergileyen bu kentin duvar resimlerini incelemek tezin ana konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Osmanlı duvar resmi örnekleri kentte, konak ve camilerde uygulanmış, kompozisyonlarda genellikle bitkisel, mimari ve sembolik tasvirlere yer verilmiştir. Trabzon yapılarında yer alan Osmanlı duvar resmi örneklerinin bir bölümü iki boyutlu bir bölümü ise üç boyutlu olarak betimlenmiştir. Kentte bulunan bazı duvar resimleri ise yazı-resimler şeklinde tasvir edilmiştir.

ABSTRACT Wall paintings, which started to be seen in Ottoman architecture in the 18th century, spread to the Empire's lands during the 19th century, after the capital Istanbul. While this new type of painting is generally seen in civil buildings such as palaces, mansions, and pavilions in the capital, it was also applied in religious buildings such as mosques, tombs and lodges in addition to civil buildings in other regions of the empire such as Anatolia, the Balkans and the Middle East. The subjects of the murals were landscape, still life and symbolic (religious/mystical) subjects, unlike the illustrated manuscripts, which were the common type of Ottoman painting. While the subjects of Ottoman wall painting generally consisted of landscapes, still lifes and symbolic depictions, they sometimes varied according to the region and patron. This type of painting, which was usually depicted by folk artists, also changed according to the characteristics of the geography and the cultural reflection of the region in different geographies of the empire. Trabzon, which was an important port city between 18-20th centuries, drew attention with its open structure and being a trade center. The main subject of the thesis is to examine the wall paintings of this city, which exhibited a different profile with its economic, cultural and intellectual silhouette, especially in the 19th century. Examples of Ottoman wall paintings were applied in cities, mansions and mosques, and generally herbal, architectural and symbolic depictions were included in the compositions. Some of the Ottoman wall painting examples in Trabzon buildings were depicted as two-dimensional, and of them were depicted as three-dimensional. Some of the wall paintings found in the city were depicted in the form of pictorial writings.
