Abstract:
ÖZET
Sıcak haddeleme yöntemine kıyasla soğuk çekme yöntemi, daha hassas kesit toleransına ve daha yüksek yüzey kalitesine sahip nihai mamullerin elde edilebilmesine imkân sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca soğuk çekme yöntemi, mekanik özelliklerin iyileştirilmesini sağlamaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında, SAE 1040 ve AISI 4140 çeliklerine farklı redüksiyon oranlarında (%8, %12, %16) soğuk çekme işlemi uygulanmıştır. Numunelerin mikroyapıları optik mikroskop ve elektron mikroskobu kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Oda sıcaklığında çekme testi ve aşınma testleri uygulanmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra çekme ve aşınma test sonuçları ile ilişki kurmak adına numunelerin sertlik değerleri belirlenmiştir. Soğuk çekme prosesine tabi tutulan çeliklerde, artan redüksiyon oranıyla mekanik ve tribolojik özeliklerin iyileştiği görülmüştür. %16 redüksiyon oranına sahip numunelere 500℃’ de 60 dk ısıl işlem uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan ısıl işlem ile 1040 çeliğinin dayanımında kayda değer bir düşüş görülmeksizin, süneklilik değeri artış göstermiştir. Ayrıca, soğuk çekme işlemi sonucunda mekanik özelliklerin SAE 1040 çeliği için AISI 4140 çeliğine göre daha yüksek oranda iyileştiği tespit edilmiştir.
ABSTRACT
Compared to the hot rolling method, the cold drawing method allows to obtain final products with more precise section tolerance and higher surface quality. In addition, the cold drawing method provides the improvement of mechanical properties. In this thesis, cold drawing process was applied to SAE 1040 and AISI 4140 steels at different reduction ratios (8%, 12%, 16%). Microstructures of the samples were investigated using optical microscope and electron microscope. Tensile and abrasion tests were performed at room temperature. In addition, the hardness values of the samples were determined to correlate with the tensile and abrasion test results. It has been observed that the mechanical and tribological properties of steels subjected to cold drawing process improve with increasing reduction ratio. The samples with 16% reduction ratio were heat treated at 500°C for 60 minutes. With the applied heat treatment, the ductility value increased without a significant decrease in the strength of the 1040 steel. In addition, as a result of the cold drawing process, it has been determined that the mechanical properties are improved at a higher rate for SAE 1040 steel than for AISI 4140 steel.
