HEMŞİRELERİN ÇOCUK İSTİSMARI VE İHMALİNİN BELİRTİ VE RİSKLERİNİ BELİRLEME DURUMLARI

Abstract

ÖZET

Çalışma Karabük Üniversitesi eğitim ve araştırma hastanesinde çalışmakta olan hemşirelerin çocuk ihmal ve istismarı ile ilgili bilgi durumlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla tanımlayıcı çalışma olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma toplam 124 hemşire ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında “katılımcı anket formu” ve çocuk istismarı ve ihmalinin belirti ve risklerini tanılama ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler değerlendirilirken tanımlayıcı istatistiksel metotlar (sayı, yüzde, ortalama ve standart sapma) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan hemşirelerin ölçek puan ortalaması 258,16±23,78 dır. Çalışmamızda hemşirelerin %35,5 daha önce çocuk ihmal ve istismarı ile ilgili eğitim almış ve çocuk ihmal ve/veya istismarı konusunda eğitim alma durumuna göre ölçek puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur (p<0,005).Daha önce pediatri servisinde çalışan hemşirelerin ölçek puanlarının karşılaştırılmasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur (p<0,020). Hemşirelerin yaşlarına göre ölçek puanları değerlendirildiğinde istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark görülmektedir (p<0,010) ve 25-29 yaş arasındaki hemşirelerin ölçek puanlarının 35-39 yaş arasında olan katılımcılara göre daha fazla olduğu saptanmıştır. Hemşirelerin çalışma yıllarına göre ölçek puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0.019). Çalışma yılı arttıkça ölçek puanlarının düştüğü belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda ve hemşirelerin çocuk istismar ve ihmali konusunda bilgi düzeylerinin orta seviyede olduğu saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik eğitimi müfredatına ve sonrasında hizmet içi eğitimlere çocuk istismarı ve ihmali ile ilgili şüphelenilmesi gereken durumlar, tanılama süreçleri ve bildirim yapılacak kurumlar konusunda eklemeler yapılması önerilebilir.

ABSTRACT

The study was carried out as a descriptive study in order to determine the knowledge status of nurses working in Karabuk University training and research hospital about child neglect and abuse. The study was carried out with a total of 124 nurses. A "participant questionnaire" and a scale for diagnosing the symptoms and risks of child abuse and neglect were used to collect the data. While evaluating the data, descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage, mean and standard deviation) were used. The mean score of the nurses participating in the study was 258.16±23.78. In our study, a statistically significant difference was found in the comparison of the scale scores of the nurses according to the status of 35.5% of the nurses who had received training on child neglect and abuse before and whether they were educated about child neglect and/or abuse (p<0.005). A statistically significant difference was found in the comparison of the scale scores of the nurses who previously worked in the pediatric service (p<0.020). When the scale scores of the nurses were evaluated according to their ages, a statistically significant difference was observed (p<0.010) and it was seen that the scale scores of the nurses between the ages of 25-29 were higher than the participants between the ages of 35-39. It was observed that there was a significant difference between the scale scores of the nurses according to their working years (p<0.019). It was observed that the scale scores decreased as the working year increased. In line with the data obtained in the study, it was seen that the level of knowledge of the nurses about child abuse and neglect was moderate. It can be suggested that additions to the nursing education curriculum and subsequent in-service training should be made about suspected cases of child abuse and neglect, diagnostic processes and institutions to be notified.
