18. ve 19. YÜZYILDA BATI RESİM SANATINDA BÜYÜ İMGESİ KULLANAN SANATÇILAR ve ESERLERİ

Abstract

ÖZ “Büyü” imgesi, insanlığın yaşamış olduğu çevreyi tanımlama ve onu kontrol etme duygusu ile başlayan bir gizemli yolculuktur. Bu yolculuk boyunca büyü bir inanç sistemi olarak mistik bir nitelik kazanmıştır. Dünyanın birçok farklı bölgesinde, ilkel toplumlarda başlayan büyü olgusu sonucunda, ortaya birçok farklı sanatsal eser çıkmıştır. Bu sanatsal üretimler, mağara resimler ile başlayarak, hayvan derilerine, ağaç kabuklarına, kayalara, papiruslara, tuvallere, mermere ve birçok farklı malzeme ile birçok farklı eser olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. “Büyü”imgesi ile yapılan çaışmalar toplumdan topluma farklılık göstersede, içerik olarak hepsi tek bir amaca hihizmet etmektedir. Şifa, aşk, ölümsüzlük gibi farklı amaçlar için yapılan büyü ve bu büyü ritüellerinde kullanılan bir araç olarak çizim, sembol, resimlerden yararlanılmıştır. Bu araçlar zaman içerisinde sanatsal eserler olarak toplum içerisinde yer edinmeye başlamıştır. “Büyü” olgusunun toplum üzerindeki etkisi sonucunda farklı dönemlerde, dini ve siyasi güç arasında bir anlaşma ya da bir savaş söz konusu olmuştur. Sanatçı toplum içinde edindiği rol ile toplumun bu savaş içerisinde yaşanan olguları gözlemlemiştir. Bu olguları kendi oluşturmuş olduğu imge ve imgelemeleri kullanarak farklı çalışmalar ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu çalışmalar kendi zamanında topluma bir nebze yönlendirme veya bilgilendirme ile kendinden sonraki dönemlerede bir örnek oluşturmuştur. “Büyü”nün dünya medeniyetleri içerisindeki yeri, sanat ve diğer disiplimler ile olan ilişkisi sonucunda ortaya çıkan çalışmaların felsefik ve sosyolojik olarak etkileri görülmektedir. 18. ve 19. yüzyıllar arasında yaşamış olan sanatçıların yapmış oldukları eserlerde, geçmişten örnek aldıkları ama kendi zamanları içerisinde değişimleri ve yenilikleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu nedenle “Büyü” imgesinin tekrar gündeme gelip popülaritesinin arttığı bu döneme dikkatlice incelenmelidir.

ABSTRACT The image of "magic" is a mysterious journey that begins with humanity's sense of defining and controlling the environment in which they lived. During this journey, magic has acquired a mystical quality as a belief system. As a result of the phenomenon of magic that started in primitive societies in many different parts of the world, many different artistic works have emerged. These artistic productions have emerged as many different works, starting with cave paintings, on animal skins, tree bark, rocks, papyrus, canvas, marble and many different materials. Although the works made with the image of "magic" differ from society to society, they all serve a single purpose in terms of content. Drawings, symbols and pictures were used as a tool used in magic and these magic rituals for different purposes such as healing, love and immortality. These tools have started to take place in society as artistic works over time. As a result of the effect of the phenomenon of "magic" on society, there has been an agreement or a war between religious and political power in different periods. The artist has observed the phenomena of the society in this war with the role he has acquired in the society. He has created different studies by using the images and imagery he has created about these phenomena. These studies set an example for the following periods by giving some direction or information to the society in their own time. The philosophical and sociological effects of the studies that emerged as a result of the place of "magic" in world civilizations and its relationship with art and other disciplines are seen. In the works of artists who lived between the 18th and 19th centuries, changes and innovations emerged in their own time, which they took as examples from the past. For this reason, this period when the "Magic" image came to the fore again and its popularity increased, should be carefully examined.
