Ahmet Şevkî ve Tevfik Fikret’in Şiirlerinde Toplumsal Eleştiri

Abstract

ÖZ Ahmet Şevkî (1868-1932) ve Tevfik Fikret (1867-1915) aynı dönemde yaşamış ancak farklı topraklarda bulunup farklı dillerde eser vermiş iki şairdir. Birbirine oldukça yakın toplumsal dinamiklerde ve toplum yapılarından etkilenen iki şair Osmanlının son dönemine de şahitlik etmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Osmanlı Devleti ile Arap coğrafyası arasındaki siyasi, sosyal ve kültürel ortamı paylaşmış iki çağdaş şairin şiirlerindeki toplumsal tenkitler konu edilmiştir. İki şairin kaleme aldığı toplumsal tenkit konulu şiirlerdeki benzerlik ve farklılıklar ortaya konmuştur. Bu iki şairin toplumsal tenkitli şiirlerinde sorunları farklı bakış acısıyla görmesine rağmen ikisi de şiirlerinde kadın sorunu, ahlak sorunu, eğitim gibi toplumsal sorunları işlemişlerdir. Ahmet Şevkî’nin üslup bakımından daha yumuşak ve alaycı bir üslubu varken Tevfik Fikret’in üslubu daha sert ve eleştireldir. Siyasete yönelik eleştirilerinde ise Şevkî’nin övme şiirleri eleştiri şiirlerinden daha ağırlıklıydı. Tevfik Fikret’in ise tam tersi olup sultan ve yönetime yönelik eleştiri şiirleri aşırı yoğunluktaydı. Batılılaşma yönünden ise iki şair Batıyı ilimin minaresi olarak görmektedir. Fakat Ahmet Şevkî tarihiyle ve kültürüyle övüp, Tevfik Fikret her şeyi arkasında bırakıp doğrudan Batılaşmak istemiştir. Hiç kuşkusuz bu farklılık, iki şair arasındaki yaşam tarzı farkından ve yaşadıkları coğrafyanın toplumsal gelişmeleri açısından değerlendirilmelidir. Bu çalışmada her iki şairin de toplumsal eleştiri şiirleri ele alınmakta, tahlili ve yorumlama bakımından araştırılmaktadır. Çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. "Giriş" kısmında, Türk ve Arap edebiyatında eleştiri ve sosyal eleştiri kavramları, bu kavramların her iki edebiyattaki tarihi gelişimi hakkında durulmuştur. “Birinci Bölüm”de ise Ahmet Şevkî ile Tevfik Fikret'in hayatı, sanatı, eserleri dili ve üslubuna dair araştırma yapılmıştır. "İkinci Bölüm"de Ahmet Şevkî’nin toplumsal konulu şiirleri ve bu şiirlerdeki eleştirel tutumu üzerinde durulmuştur. "Üçüncü Bölüm", Tevfik Fikret’in toplumsal konulu şiirlerini içermektedir.

ABSTRACT Ahmet Şevkî (1868-1932) and Tevfik Fikret (1867-1915) are two poets who lived in the same period but lived in different lands and produced works in different languages. The two poets, who were influenced by social dynamics and social structures that were very close to each other, also witnessed the last period of the Ottoman Empire. In this study, the social criticisms in the poems of two contemporary poets who shared the political, social and cultural environment between the Ottoman Empire and the Arab geography were discussed. The similarities and differences in the poems about social criticism written by the two poets have been revealed. Although these two poets see the problems from different perspectives in their socially critical poems, they both deal with social problems such as women's issue, morality issue and education in their poems. While Ahmet Şevkî has a softer and more cynical style in terms of style, Tevfik Fikret's style is more harsh and critical. In his criticism of politics, Şevkî's praising poems were more dominant than his criticism poems. Tevfik Fikret, on the other hand, was the opposite of his criticism of the sultan and the government. In terms of westernization, the two poets see the West as the minaret of science. However, Ahmet Şevkî praised his history and culture and Tevfik Fikret wanted to leave everything behind and become Western directly. Undoubtedly, this difference should be evaluated in terms of the lifestyle difference between the two poets and the social developments of the geography they live in. In this study, the social criticism poems of both poets are discussed and investigated in terms of analysis and interpretation. The study consists of four parts. In the "Introduction" part, the concepts of criticism and social criticism in Turkish and Arabic literature, and the historical development of these concepts in both literatures are discussed. In the “First Chapter”, a research was conducted on the life, art, language and style of Ahmet Şevkî and Tevfik Fikret. In the "Second Chapter", Ahmet Şevkî's poems on social themes and his critical attitude in these poems are emphasized. The "Third Chapter" includes Tevfik Fikret's poems on social themes.
