KAYSERİ GELENEKSEL EVLERİ: İNCESU İLÇESİ ÖRNEKLERİ

Abstract

ÖZET

Kayseri, İç Anadolu bölgesinin önemli tarihi kentlerinden biridir. Kapadokya’ya başkentlik yapan tarihi şehir; kültürü, coğrafi konumu, iklimi ve bölgeye özel yerel dokusuyla birlikte kendine özgü sivil bir mimariye sahiptir. Kentin 16 ilçesinden biri olan İncesu, konumu, bölgede zamanında farklı imparatorlukların yaşamış olması, Müslüman ve Hristiyan halkın bir arada yaşaması gibi etkenlerle birlikte zengin bir kültürü barındırır.

Bölgede farklı dini ve etnik grupların bir arada yaşamasının bir sonucu olarak önemli kültürel ve mimari doku oluşmuştur. Bu dokuyu yansıtan önemli yapılardan biri de şüphesiz ki evlerdir. Geleneksel evlerin kendine özgü mimari karakterleri vardır. İncesu’da da sivil ve anıtsal mimari kapsamında nitelikli yapılar bulunmaktadır.

20. yüzyılda yaşanan nüfus mübadelesi sonucunda gayrimüslümlerin ilçeyi terk etmeye başladığı ve ilçenin ticari çekiciliğini yitirdiği bilinmektedir. Kent hayatının çekiciliğiyle birlikte ilçe 1950’den itibaren Kayseri, Nevşehir ve İstanbul’a göç vermiştir. Bölgedeki tarihi evlerin büyük çoğunluğu terk edilmiş ve günümüzde birçok evin atıl durumda olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Kaybolmaya yüz tutan kültürel dokunun sürekliliğin sağlanması amacıyla tezin ana konusunu ilçede bulunan tarihi evler ve evlerin mimari özellikleri oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda İncesu’da günümüze kadar ayakta kalabilen geleneksel evler karakteristikleri, plan ve mekânsal özellikleri ile yapı elemanları açısından irdelenmiştir.

İlçedeki geleneksel evlerin mimari özellikleri ortaya konularak, geleneksel evler ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalara katkı sağlamak ve kültürel değerlere sahip çıkmak amaçlanmıştır. Gelecek nesillere bırakılmak üzere mimari miras değerlerinin sürekliliğinin devamı, toplumsal koruma ve değerlere sahip çıkma bilincine katkı sağlamak amacıyla bu çalışma konusu ele alınmıştır.

ABSTRACT

Kayseri is one of the significant historical cities of the Central Anatolian Region. The historical city that was the capital of Cappadocia owns a distinctive civil architecture with its culture, geographical location, climate, and local texture specific in the region. Incesu, which is one of the 16 districts of city has rich culture thanks to the fact that Muslim and Christian people coexisted and different empires ruled that region.

As a result of the coexistence of different religious and ethnic groups in the region, an essential cultural and architectural texture has existed. One of the important structures reflecting this texture is undoubtedly the houses. Traditional houses have their architectural character. There also exist qualified buildings within the scope of civil and monumental architecture in İncesu.

It is known that as a result of the population exchange in the 20th century, non-Muslims started to leave the district and the district lost its commercial appeal. Since 1950 with the attractiveness of city life, the district residents have migrated to Kayseri,

Nevşehir, and Istanbul. The most of the historic houses in the region have been abandoned and it has been determined that many houses are disused today.

The main subject of the thesis is on the historical houses and their architectural features in the district in order to ensure the continuity of the cultural texture that is about to disappear. In this context, the traditional houses that have survived to the present day in İncesu were analyzed in terms of their characteristics, plan and spatial features, and building elements.

It is aimed to contribute to the studies on traditional houses and to protect cultural values by revealing the architectural features of the traditional houses in the district. The subject of this study has been handled in order to contribute to the continuity of architectural heritage values to be left to future generations and to contribute to the awareness of communal protection and uploading social values.
