HEMŞİRELERİN EL HİJYENİ DAVRANIŞLARININ GELİŞTİRİLMESİNDE KISA MESAJ KULLANIMININ ETKİSİ

Abstract

ÖZET

Bu çalışmanın amacı, hemşirelerin el hijyeni davranışlarının geliştirilmesinde kısa mesaj kullanımının etkisini belirlemektir. Ön test-son test kontrol gruplu randomize kontrollü yapılan çalışmanın evrenini; 1 Ocak 2022 - 31 Mart 2022 arasında Karabük Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde çalışan hemşireler, örneklemini ise araştırmanın dahil edilme ve dışlama kriterlerine uyan 60 hemşire oluşturmuştur. El hijyeni davranışlarını geliştirmeye yönelik 8 adet kısa mesaj haftada 2 kez müdahale grubundaki hemşirelerin cep telefonlarına gönderilmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında Hemşire Bilgi Formu, El Hijyeni Uygulama Envanteri, El Yıkama Formu, Cerrahi El Yıkama Formu ve Antiseptik Ajan ile El Ovalama Formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, Shapiro-Wilk, iki yönlü Robust, Bonferroni ve Mann-Whitney U testleri kullanılmıştır. Hemşirelerin el hijyeni davranışlarının geliştirilmesinde grup ve zaman etkileşimine El Yıkama Formu, Cerrahi El Yıkama Formu ve Antiseptik Ajan ile El Ovalama Formu son test ortalama puanının anlamlı olarak hemşirelerin ön test ortalama puanından yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur (p<0,001). Elde edilen sonuçlarla, hemşirelerin el hijyeni davranışlarının geliştirilmesinde kısa mesaj kullanımının etkili olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to assess the impact of text messages on the development of hand hygiene practices among nurses. The population of the randomized controlled study with pretest-posttest control group consisted of nurses employed at Karabuk Training and Research Hospital between January 1, 2022 and March 31, 2022, and the sample consisted of sixty nurses who met the study's inclusion and exclusion criteria. Twice each week, eight short messages aiming at promoting hand hygiene practices were sent to the mobile phones of nurses in the intervention group. Data was collected using the Nurse Information Form, Hand Hygiene Application Inventory, Hand Washing Form, Surgical Hand Washing Form, and Antiseptic Agent and Hand Scrub Form. In the data analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk, two-way Robust, Bonferroni, and Mann-Whitney U tests were utilized. It was determined that the post-test average scores for the Hand Washing Form, the Surgical Hand Washing Form, and the Hand Scrub with Antiseptic Agent Form were considerably higher than the pre-test average scores (p<0,001). Based on the results, it was determined that the employment of short messages was helpful in enhancing the hand hygiene practices of nurses.
