Şiddet Mağduru Kadınların Toplumsal Cinsiyet Algısı, Sosyal Destek Sistemleri ve Şiddetle Baş Etme Stratejileri

Abstract

ÖZ Şiddet geçmişten günümüze varlığını sürdüren bir olgu olmuştur. Bu olgu dünya üzerindeki tüm canlıları olumsuz etkilemekle birlikte günümüzde şiddet denilince akla ilk gelen canlı kadın olmuştur. Kadınlara uygulanan şiddet davranışının yıkılması zor tabulardan biri olduğu kabul edilmektedir. Şiddet davranışının neden ve sonuçlarına açıklama getirebilmek adına kadınların destek sistemleri, toplumsal cinsiyet algıları ve baş etme faktörlerinin incelenmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada şiddet davranışının ortaya çıkmasına neden olan etkenlerin yanı sıra kadınların şiddetle nasıl baş ettikleri, destek sistemleri ve toplumsal cinsiyet algıları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda medeni durum, eğitim durumu, gelir durumu, şiddet sıklığı gibi sosyodemografik değişkenler ile incelemeler yapılmıştır. Çalışmamızda gelir durumu iyi, şiddete uğrama sıklığı daha az, eğitim seviyesi yüksek bireylerin toplumsal cinsiyet algısının, sosyal destek sistemlerinin ve şiddetle baş etme durumlarının daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmamız alanda var olan çalışmalara katkı sağlamakla birlikte, şiddet mağduru kadınlar ile gerçekleştirilecek sosyal hizmet müdahalelerine ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir.

ABSTRACT Violence has been a phenomenon that has existed from the past to the present. Although this phenomenon negatively affects all living things in the world, today, when violence is mentioned, the first living creature that comes to mind is women. It is accepted that violence against women is one of the taboos that is difficult to break. In order to explain the causes and consequences of violent behavior, it is important to examine women's support systems, gender perceptions and coping factors. In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between women's coping with violence, support systems and gender perceptions, as well as the factors that cause the emergence of violent behavior. For this purpose, sociodemographic variables such as marital status, educational status, income status, and frequency of violence were examined. In our study, it was concluded that the gender perception, social support systems and coping with violence are higher in individuals with good income, less frequency of violence, and higher education level. While our research contributes to the existing studies in the field, it is thought that it will shed light on the social service interventions to be carried out for women who are victims of violence.
