Girişimci Kişilik Karakteristiklerinin Demografik Faktörler Açısından İncelenmesi: Karabük Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Öğrencileri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

ÖZET Önemli girişimlerin sayılarının her geçen gün artması ve dijital ekonominin yükselişi girişimcilik olgusunu ön plana çıkarmaktadır. Bu çalışmada girişimci kişilik karakteristiklerinin demografik faktörlere göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Karabük Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi öğrencileri üzerine bir araştırma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak anket yöntemi tercih edilmiş ve Karabük Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören 401 öğrenciden veri alınmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında oluşturulan hipotezler ANOVA ve t-testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda kontrol odağı ve yenilikçilik değişkenlerinin babanın mesleğine göre farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte katılımcıların risk alma eğilimlerinin cinsiyet ve iş kurma isteğine göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada ayrıca başarı ihtiyacının iş kurma isteğine göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaştığı ortaya konmuştur.

ABSTRACT The increase in the number of important enterprises and the rise of the digital economy bring the phenomenon of entrepreneurship to the fore. In this study, it was aimed to determine whether entrepreneurial personality characteristics differ according to demographic factors. For this purpose, a research was carried out on the students of Karabuk University Engineering Faculty. In the research, the survey method was preferred as the data collection tool and data were obtained from 401 students studying at the Faculty of Engineering of Karabuk University. The hypotheses created within the scope of the research were analyzed with ANOVA and t-test. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the variables of locus of control and innovativeness differ according to the father's occupation. However, it was determined that the risk-taking tendencies of the participants showed a significant difference according to gender and desire to start a business. In the study, it was also revealed that the need for success differed significantly according to the desire to start a business.
