The Obstacles Faced While Translating Films and How to Avoid Them

Abstract

ABSTRACT It can be said that audiovisual translation is now one of the most common forms of translation Where people now live in the age of globalized media and communications. Most European countries, especially Central European countries, have a large number of viewers who receive audio-visual works in very large numbers, so they need a correct translation. Due to the development of modern technologies and the spread of electronic media, the number of translators has increased significantly. The current study aims to find out what are some of the difficulties that the translator faces while translating films. The methodology that was used is Internet, where the data was collected from Internet; the analysis was for part of a song in Frozen Movie. No survey was done or any other instruments. The only procedure that the researcher followed is to search internet and the sources related to the idea of the research. The current study relates to the presence of many difficulties and errors of translators. The observation was that some translators were good in their translation, and this is according to some of the translation laws that were presented, and some of them need more knowledge and more training on translation. Experience is one of the most crucial factors in the world of film translation. The distinction between translation and dubbing, as well as the benefits and disadvantages of each, were covered.
