Turizm Eğitimı Alan Öğrencilerin Sektöre Yönelik Bakış Acıları Ile Kariyer Yapma İsteği Arasındaki İlişkilerin Değerlendirilmesi

20. yüzyıl ortasından sonra hızla gelişen turizm sektörü dünyadaki en önemli sektörlerden birisi haline gelmiş ve emek yoğun bir sektör haline dönmüşmüştür. Bu çalışmada turizm eğitimi alan lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora öğrencilerinin turizm sektöre yönelik bakış acıları ile turizmde kariyer yapma isteği arasındaki ilişkilerin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu çerçevede üç devlet üniversitesinde turizm eğitimi alan 586 öğrenciyle anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Turizmde kariyer yapma isteği ölçeği”, “Turizm sektörüne yönelten faktörler ölçeği” ve “Turizm eğitimini ve turizm sektörünü değerlendirmelerini ölçmeye ve değerlendirmeye yönelik ölçeğinin” ölçekleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama ve analizinde nicel yöntemler kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler, SPSS istatistik paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler üzerinden yapılan analizler sonucunda, kadınların erkeklerden göre ankete daha çok katılması sonuçlara fazla etki göstermemektetir. Aynı zamanda kadınlar turizme yönelmede daha istekli çıkmıştır. Doktora ve yüksek lisans öğrencileri lisans düzeyindeki öğrencilerden daha yetenekli, kendi işine kuran, sosyal, turizm sektörine yönelen ve iş koşullarına alışkan oldukları tespit edilmiş. 18-24 yaş arası diğer yaş grup öğrencilerinden daha fazla, 24 yaş ve üstü yaş grubu öğrencilerinin ise 18-23 yaş öğrencilerinden daha fazla kariyer yapmak istedikleri saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin okudukları üniversitelerine, bölümlerine, maddı dürümleri göre turizm sektörüne yönelten faktörleri ile turizme bakış acıları arasında ilişki saptanmıştır. Turizm mesleğine yönelme faktörleri ile turizmde kariyer yapma isteği arasında pozitif yönde düşük düzeyde ilişki bulunmuştur. Aynı zamanda turizm sektöre yönelik bakış acıları ile turizmde kariyer yapma isteği arasındaki ilişkilerin değerlendirilmesi üzerine etkisi yüksek düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir.

ABSTRACT The tourism sector, which developed rapidly after the middle of the 20th century, has become one of the most important sectors in the world and has turned into a labor-intensive sector. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the relations between the perspectives of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students studying tourism towards the tourism sector and their desire to make a career in tourism. In this context, a questionnaire was applied to 586 students who received tourism education at three state universities. In the research, the scales of "willingness to make a career in tourism", "factors leading to the tourism sector" and "scale for measuring and evaluating tourism education and evaluations of the tourism sector" were used as data collection tools. Quantitative methods were used in data collection and analysis in the research, and the obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical package program. As a result of the analyzes made on the data obtained, the fact that women participate in the survey more than men does not have much effect on the results. At the same time, women were more willing to turn to tourism. It has been determined that doctorate and master's students are more talented than undergraduate students, they are self-employed, oriented towards the social and tourism sector and are accustomed to business conditions. It was determined that 18-24 age group students wanted to make a career more than other age group students, and 24 years old and above age group students wanted to make a career more than 18-23 age group students. A relationship was found between the factors that lead students to the tourism sector according to their university, department, and financial situation and their perspectives on tourism. A low level of positive correlation was found between the factors of orientation to the tourism profession and the desire to make a career in tourism. At the same time, it has been determined that it has a high effect on the evaluation of the relations between the perspectives towards the tourism sector and the desire to make a career in tourism.
