Turizm Eğitimi Alan Öğrencilerin Sürdürülebilir Destinasyon Yönetimi Tutumlarına Yönelik Görüşleri: Safranbolu Örneği

Abstract

ÖZ Sürdürülebilirlik kavramının tüm dünyada gelişmesiyle beraber insanlığın da ilgisini çekmeyi başarmıştır. Bu sebeple insanlarda sürdürülebilirliği sağlama açısından neyi ne şekilde yaparsak devamlılığı sağlayabiliriz olgusu oluşmaya başlamıştır. Birçok açıdan önem kazanan sürdürülebilirlik olgusu turizm açısından da önemli bir etmen haline gelmiştir. Turizmin kitlesel hale gelmesiyle destinasyonlar diğer turizm bölgelerinden kendilerinin ayırt edici özelliklerini ve ziyaretçileri bölgeye nasıl çekebiliriz düşüncesi ile destinasyonların sürdürülebilirlik algısının ortaya çıkmasında önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Sürdürülebilirlik ekonomik, çevresel ve sosyo-kültürel olarak üç temel başlıkta toplanmaktadır. Turizmin çevreye vermiş olduğu hasarı minimum seviyeye indirmeyi, bölge sakinlerinin kültürel özelliğinin korunmasını ve uzun vadede ekonomik kalkınma sağlamayı hedefleyen bu olgu, gelecek kuşaklara tarihi, doğal kaynakları aktarmayı sağlamaktır. Bu çalışmanın amacı ise, turizm eğitimi alan ve gelecekte turizmin belli alanlarında çalışma potansiyeli olan öğrencilerin tarihi ve kültürel çekiciliği olan Safranbolu üzerinden sürdürülebilir destinasyon yönetimi tutumlarına yönelik görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu görüşlerin belirlenmesi için Karabük Üniversitesi bünyesindeki Safranbolu Turizm Fakültesi ve Safranbolu Şefik Dizdar Meslek Yüksekokul’ unda öğrenim gören turizm öğrencileri ile bir anket çalışması yapılmıştır. İki okulun öğrenci işlerinden alınan bilgi doğrultusunda lisans düzeyinde 858 öğrenci ve ön lisans düzeyinde 425 öğrenci olmak üzere toplamda 1283 öğrencinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Belirlenen bu evrenden 356 örneklem sayısına ulaşılmış ancak ön lisans düzeyinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin tamamının aktif olmaması sebebiyle belirlenen 356 öğrenci yerine eğitime aktif devam eden toplam 262 öğrenci ile iletişime geçilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre, anket uygulaması yapılan öğrencilerin sürdürülebilir destinasyon yönetimi tutumları üzerinde, faktör analizi sonucunda elde edilen bölgesel ekonomi, tarihsel ve kültürel çevre boyutlarının etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca elde edilen sonuçların öğrencilerin cinsiyeti, okulu ve öğrenim gördüğü bölüm statüsüne göre farklılık gösterdiğine ulaşılmıştır.

ABSTRACT With the development of the concept of sustainability all over the world, it has also managed to attract the attention of humanity. For this reason, the phenomenon of how we can ensure continuity in terms of ensuring sustainability in humans has begun to emerge. The concept of sustainability, which has gained importance in many respects, has also become an important factor in terms of tourism. With the mass tourism, destinations have played an important role in the emergence of the sustainability perception of destinations with the idea of how to attract visitors to the region and their distinctive features from other tourism regions. Sustainability is gathered under three main headings as economic, environmental and socio-cultural. This phenomenon, which aims to minimize the damage caused by tourism to the environment, to protect the cultural characteristics of the residents and to provide long-term economic development, is to transfer historical and natural resources to future generations. The purpose of this study is to determine the opinions of students who have tourism education and who have the potential to work in certain areas of tourism in the future, on sustainable destination management attitudes through Safranbolu, which is a historical and cultural attraction. In order to determine these views, a survey was conducted with tourism students studying at Safranbolu Tourism Faculty and Safranbolu Şefik Dizdar Vocational School within Karabük University. In line with the information obtained from the student affairs of the two schools, it was determined that there were a total of 1283 students, 858 students at the undergraduate level and 425 students at the associate degree level. The sample number of 356 was reached from this determined population, but since not all of the students studying at the associate degree level were active, a total of 262 students were contacted instead of the 356 students who were active. According to the findings obtained in the research, it was determined that the regional economy, historical and cultural environment dimensions obtained as a result of factor analysis were effective on the sustainable destination management attitudes of the students who were surveyed. In addition, it has been found that the results obtained differ according to the gender of the students, the school and the status of the department they are studying.
