ABSTRACT The dissertation discussed poverty, its types, causes, and ways to fight it in the light of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, where this study came to search in the preamble for the meaning of poverty linguistically and idiomatically, and the meaning of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, then the word poverty and its synonyms in the Holy Qur’an. The study dealt in the first chapter with the types of poverty In terms of spiritual, material, and scientific poverty, then the manifestations of poverty through the manifestation of hunger and debt, then the study discusses in the second chapter the causes of poverty in the Holy Qur’an, through eating usury, abandoning judgment by what God has revealed, and preventing zakat, then the reasons in the Sunnah of the Prophet, By asking people without hardship, sins, diseases, and the consequences that poverty produces, through its impact on faith, morals and noble morals, and on the Muslim family, then in the third chapter I dealt with ways to combat poverty in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, through the role of toil and its standards And its resources, agricultural, industrial, and commercial, then the role of zakat in fighting poverty and its huge financial tributaries that benefit the general public for the poor and the needy, if it is well collected and invested and distributed fairly among those who deserve it, then discussing the role of jihad for the sake of God, peace be upon him, through the role of the booty Finally, the conclusion contains the most important findings and recommendations reached by the researcher.
