İstanbul’daki 21. Yüzyıl Cami Minberlerinde Yenilikçi Yaklaşımlar

Abstract

ÖZ 20. yüzyılda modernizm kavramı ile gelişen ve Endüstri Devrimi ile değişen sosyal, ekonomik, kültürel ve siyasi ortam birçok mimarlık akımının ortaya çıkmasını sağlamıştır. ‘İstanbul’daki 21. Yüzyıl Cami Minberlerinde Yenilikçi Yaklaşımlar’ başlıklı çalışmada, modern cami minberlerinin gelişen ve değişen sanat ortamına uyum süreçleri, modernizm kavramını oluşturan fikir akımlarının yenilikçi bir tasarıma sahip minber formlarına ne düzeyde etki ettiği ve geleneksel çizgilerden kopma durumunun ne düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan incelemeler sonucunda neredeyse tüm minber tasarımlarının geleneksel çizgilerden arındırılarak yenilikçi bir anlayış ile inşa edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamı içinde incelenen on yedi minber tasarımı ayrıntılı biçimde tanımlanmış, fotoğraflanıp çizimleri yapılarak belgelenmiştir. Endüstri Devrimi ile zenginleşen sanat ortamı en çok İstanbul’u etkilemiştir. Özellikle yabancı mimarların İstanbul’a gelmesi ile Batı ile iletişim kuvvetlenmiş ve birçok batılı akım ülkemizde de denenmeye başlamıştır. Dönemin geleneksel malzemesi olan taş ve ahşap malzeme, yerini zamanla çelik, dökme demir, cam ve betonarmeye bırakarak daha özgün tasarımların ortaya çıkmasını sağlamıştır. Bu durum konu seçiminde önemli faktörlerden biri olmuştur. Ayrıca yeni malzeme ve yeni stil arayışları incelenen minber formlarında fikir akımlarının bir yansıması olarak karşımıza çıkmıştır. Böylece minber formlarındaki üslup, teknik ve malzeme açısından görülen farklılıklar, çalışmanın yönünü belirleyen önemli bir unsur olmuştur. İncelenen minber tasarımlarında birbirini takip etmeyen özgün bir tasarım anlayışı dikkat çekmektedir. İncelenen cami minberlerinin hem tasarım hem süsleme hem de malzeme açısından geleneksel minber tasarımlarından farklı bir anlayışa sahip olduğu saptanmıştır.

ABSTRACT The social, economic, cultural, and political environment that developed with the concept of Modernism in the 20th century and changed with the Industrial Revolution led to many architectural currents. A study is titled ''Innovative Approaches in 21st Century Mosque Minbars in Istanbul''. In that study, it tried to determine the adaptation processes of modern mosque minbars to the developing and changing art environment, to what extent the idea movements that constitute the concept of modernism affect modern minbar designs, and to what extent there is a break from traditional lines. As a result of the examinations, it was determined that almost all pulpit designs were constructed with an innovative understanding by purifying traditional lines. The seventeen minbar designs examined within the scope of the research were described in detail, photographed and documented with drawings. The art environment enriched by the Industrial Revolution affected Istanbul the most. Especially with the arrival of foreign architects in Istanbul, communication with the West has been strengthened, and many Western trends began to be tried in our country. Stone and wood, the traditional materials of the period, have been replaced by steel, cast iron, glass, and reinforced concrete over time, leading to more original designs. This situation has been one of the main factors in subject selection. In addition, the search for new materials and new styles has emerged as a reflection of intellectual movements in modern mosque minbar forms. Thus, the differences seen in terms of style, technique, and material in minbar forms have been an essential factor in determining the direction of the study. An original design understanding that does not follow each other is what draws attention to the pulpit designs examined. It has been determined that contemporary mosque pulpits exhibit a distinct understanding from conventional designs in terms of their designs, embellishments, and construction materials.
