Abstract:
ÖZET
Bu çalışmada, sodyum silikat ve kaolin esaslı inorganik bağlayıcı ile dolgu olarak silis kumu bağlanmış ve ısıl işlem ile nihai katı numuneler elde edilmiştir. Kaolin ve sodyum silikat esaslı inorganik bağlayıcının kimyasal bileşiminin, 200-320 oC sıcaklık aralığında üretim sıcaklığının, %40 oranına kadar bağlayıcı katkı oranının ve iki farklı kum tane boyut dağılımının son ürün özelliklerine olan etkisi sistematik olarak incelenmiştir.
Çalışma neticesinde SiO2/Al2O3 molar oranının 5, Na2O/Al2O3 molar oranının 1 ve H2O/Al2O3 molar oranının 30 olduğunda en yüksek basma dayanımının elde edildiği bulunmuştur. Tepkimelerin gerçekleşebilmesi için 240 oC sıcaklığın eşik bir değer olduğu görülmüş ancak en yüksek dayanım değerleri 300 oC sıcaklıkta kür edilen numunelerde elde edilmiştir. Bağlayıcının amorf faz ve kristalin kaolinitten meydana geldiği faz analizlerinde tespit edilmiştir.
Artan sıcaklık ile numunelerde amorf fazın arttığı görülmüştür. Mikroyapı analizleri %30 ve %40 bağlayıcı oranında aşırı bağlayıcı faz nedeni ile tanelerin birbirinden uzaklaştığını göstermiştir. Her iki dolgu tane boyutu için numunelerde bağlayıcı oranı kütlece %20’ye ulaştığında en yüksek dayanım elde edilmiştir. %20 den daha yüksek bağlayıcı oranlarında numunelerde mukavemet düşmüş ve deformasyon gerçekleşmiştir.
ABSTRACT
In this study, silica sand was bonded with sodium silicate and kaolin based inorganic binder and final solid samples were obtained by heat treatment. The effect of the chemical composition of kaolin and sodium silicate based inorganic binder, the production temperature in the temperature range of 200-320 oC, the binder ratio up to 40%wt. and two different particle size distribution of sand on the final product properties were systematically investigated.
As a result of the study, it was found that the highest compressive strength was obtained when the SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratio was 5, the Na2O/Al2O3 molar ratio was 1 and the H2O/Al2O3 molar ratio was 30. 240 oC temperature was found to be a threshold value for the reactions to take place, but the highest compressive strength value was obtained in the samples cured at 300 oC temperature. Binder consists of the amorphous phase and the crystalline kaolinite according to the phase analysis. The amorphous phase was increased in the samples with increasing temperature. The microstructure analysis showed that, at 30% wt. and 40% wt. binder ratio, particles were separated from each other due to excessive binder phase. The highest strength values were obtained when the binder ratio in the samples reached 20% wt. for both particle sizes. At the binder ratios higher than 20% wt., the strength of the samples decreased, and deformation occurred.
