Demir-Çelik Sektörünün Dış Ticaret ve Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerindeki Etkisi: Türkiye Örneği

Abstract

ÖZ Cumhuriyet döneminden bu yana uzun bir geçmişe ve büyük bir tecrübeye sahip olan Türkiye'deki demir-çelik sektörü, en çok ihracatın yapıldığı üçüncü, en fazla ithalatın yapıldığı dördüncü sektördür. Türkiye demir-çelik sektöründe dünyada en fazla üretim yapan sekizinci ülkedir. Türkiye küresel demir-çelik ticaretinde, dünya dış ticaret pazarının %4,23’üne sahiptir. Diğer sektörlerle ileri geri bağlantılara sahip olan demir-çelik sektöründen çıkan ürünler birçok sektör için ara mal niteliğindedir. Aynı zamanda bu sektör diğer sektörlerin gelişimi için de kaldıraç görevi görmektedir. Demir-çelik sektöründeki yüksek küresel talep, sektörün Türkiye’nin dış ticaretindeki önemini giderek artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada demir-çelik sektöründeki küresel gelişmeler tartışılmış ve Türkiye’de demir-çelik sektörünün mevcut durumuyla ilgili genel bilgiler verilerek sektörün dış ticaret verileri detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Özellikle son on yılın dış ticaret verilerindeki değişimin sebeplerine ve etkilerine değinilen çalışmada; demir-çelik sektöründeki 2008-2017 ihracat verilerinin Türkiye’nin dış ticaret ve ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisi uygun ekonometrik modeller kullanılarak analiz yapılmıştır. Kullanılan ekonometrik modelin tahmin sürecine geçilmeden önce serilerin durağanlığı sınanmış ve bu çerçevede genişletilmiş Dickey-Fuller (ADF) ve Philip-Perron (PP) birim kök testleri yapılmıştır. Her iki birim kök testinde de serilerin birim kök içerdiği ve 1.farkı alındıktan sonra serilerin durağan hale geldiği görülmüştür. Seriler aynı dereceden durağan oldukları için Johansen eşbütünleşme testiyle uzun dönemli ilişkinin varlığı sınanmıştır. Bu çalışma, demir-çelik sektöründe dış ticaret gelişmelerinin incelenmesi, sektörün Türkiye’deki önemli makroekonomik değişkenlerle olan ilişkinin analiz edilmesi ve analiz sonuçlarının Türkiye’nin gelecekteki sektörle ilgili planlamalarına ışık tutması açısından önem taşımaktadır. ABSTRACT In the iron and steel industry during the Republic of Turkey it has a long history and a great experience since. The sector is the third sector with the most exports and the fourth sector with the most imports. Turkey is the eighth country in the world with the highest production of iron and steel industry. Turkey in the global iron and steel trade, with 4.23% of the world trade market. Iron and steel products, which have back and forth connections with other sectors, are intermediate goods for many sectors. At the same time, this sector serves as a leverage for the development of other sectors. high demand in the global steel sector is increasingly important in Turkey's foreign trade sector. In this study, we discussed global developments in iron and steel industry and foreign trade data of the sector by giving an overview of the current state of the iron and steel industry in Turkey has been analyzed in detail. In particular, the reasons and effects of changes in the foreign trade data of the last 10 years are mentioned. Turkey's foreign trade and its impact on economic growth of 2008-2017 export data in the iron and steel sector analysis is performed using appropriate econometric models. Before the estimation process of the econometric model was used, the stability of the series was tested and extended Dickey-Fuller (ADF) and Philip-Perron (PP) unit root tests were performed. In both unit root tests, it was seen that the series contained unit root and after the first difference, the series became stationary. Since the series are equally stable, the existence of long-term relationship was tested by Johansen cointegration test. This study is important in terms of examining foreign trade developments in iron and steel sector, the analyzing of the industry's relationship with the important macroeconomic variable in Turkey and shedding light on the planning and analysis about the future of the analyze results.
