Ergenlerin Anne Babalarından Algıladıkları Psikolojik Kontrol ile Öznel İyi Oluşları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

ÖZET

Bu çalışmada, ergenlerin anne-babalarından algıladıkları psikolojik kontrol ile öznel iyi oluşları arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Çalışma grubunu ortaokula devam eden 10-14 yaş grubunda 565 ergen oluşturmuştur. Veri toplamada “Ergen Öznel İyi Oluş Ölçeği” ile “Psikolojik Kontrol Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Veri analizinde parametrik olmayan testler uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda şehir merkezinde yaşayan ergenlerde aile ilişkilerinde doyumun, kırsal kesimde yaşayan ergenlerde önemli diğerleriyle ilişkilerde doyumun daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Şehir merkezinde yaşayan ergenlerin annelerinden algıladıkları psikolojik kontrolün kırsal kesimde yaşayanlardan daha fazla olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ergenlerin öznel iyi oluşlarının cinsiyete göre değişmediği, erkek ergenlerde babadan algılanan psikolojik kontrolün yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada 8.sınıf ergenlerin olumlu duygular içerisinde oluşları düşük, ebeveyn psikolojik kontrol algılarının daha yüksek olduğu; öznel iyi oluş ve psikolojik kontrolün kardeş sayısına göre değişmediği belirlenmiştir. Okul başarısı çok iyi olan ergenlerin öznel iyi oluşlarının, okul başarısı orta/düşük olanların ebeveyn psikolojik kontrol algılarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Annesi çalışan ergenlerin annelerinden algıladıkları psikolojik kontrol algılarının ve tam aileye sahip ergenlerin öznel iyi oluşlarının daha yüksek belirlenmiştir. Anne-baba psikolojik kontrol puanları ile ergenlerin öznel iyi oluş puanları arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu; anne ve baba psikolojik kontrolü arttıkça ergenlerin öznel iyi oluşlarının azaldığı belirlenmiştir.

ABSTRACT

In this study, the relationship between the psychological control perceived by the adolescents from their parents and their subjective well-being was investigated. The study group consisted of 565 adolescents in the 10-14 age group attending secondary school. “Adolescent Subjective Well-Being Scale” and “Psychological Control Scale” were used for data collection. Nonparametric tests were applied in data analysis. As a result of this research, it has been identified that adolescents living in the city center have a higher satisfaction rate in family relationships while adolescents living in the countryside have a higher satisfaction rate in relationships with important others. It has been found that adolescents that live in the city center perceive more maternal psychological control than adolescents that live in the countryside. It has also been found that the subjective well-being of adolescents doesn't change depending on gender, and male adolescents perceive high paternal psychological control. This research shows that adolescents who are 8th graders have low positive feelings and higher perception of parental psychological control while the subjective well-being and the psychological control doesn't change depending on the number of siblings. It has been remarked that adolescents with notable academic success have higher subjective well-being while adolescents with average or low academic performance have higher perceptions of parental psychological control. It was determined that adolescents with working mothers have high maternal psychological perception and adolescents with both parents have higher subjective well-being. A meaningful negative relationship was detected between parental psychological control scores and adolescent well-being scores; Meaning that higher parental psychological control causes lower adolescent subjective well being.
