Özel Okul Öğretmenlerinin Duygusal Emek Süreçlerine İlişkin Görüşlerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

ÖZ Dünyada ve Türkiye’de yükselen küreselleşme ve neo-liberal ekonomik politikaların etkilediği alanlardan biri de kuşkusuz eğitim sistemleridir. Eğitim alanında yaşanan bu dönüşümlerin en dolaysız etkisi ise öğretmen emeği üzerine olmaktadır. Günümüzde piyasa hizmeti sunan bir çalışan olarak öğretmenin, piyasa kuralları gereği öğrenci ve veli memnuniyeti doğrultusunda duygusal emek gösterimlerinde bulunması kurumların beklentilerinden biri haline gelmiştir. Güvencesiz çalışma koşulları öğretmenin bu beklentilere uygun davranışları sergilemesinde önemli bir unsur olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenolojik desende tasarlanmıştır. Araştırma, 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim yılında Karabük il sınırları içinde bulunan beş özel okulda, en az iki yıl görev yapmış 14 öğretmen üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğretmenler ile yüz yüze yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda veriler elde edilmiştir. Verilerin elde edilmesinde yapılandırılmış ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi yoluyla çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmada, özel okulda veli ve kurum beklentisinin yüksek olduğu, öğretmenlerin baskı ve müdahaleye maruz kaldığı ve öğretmenin mesleki itibarının azaldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmelerin veli ve kurum beklentileri doğrultusunda duygusal emek davranışlarında bulundukları, veli ile iletişimleri sırasında duygu gösterim kurallarına dikkat ettikleri, duygu gösterim yoğunluğunun yüksek ve yaşanan duygusal uyumsuzluğun fazla olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Daha fazla duygusal tükenme ve duygusal uyumsuzluğa sebep olan yüzeysel davranış sebeplerinin başında ise veli memnuniyetinin sağlanması noktasında kurum beklentilerinin ve eğitim hizmetini satın alan velilerin talepkâr olması ön plana çıkmıştır.

ABSTRACT One of the areas affected by the rising globalization and neo-liberal economic in the world and Turkey are of course the education system. The most direct effect of these transformations in the field of education is on teacher labor. It has become one of the expectations of the institutions that the teacher, as an employee who provides market service, shows emotional labor in line with the satisfaction of students and parents as required by market rules. The unstable working conditions appear as an important factor in the teacher's behavior in accordance with these expectations. The research is designed in phenomenological pattern, one of the qualitative research methods. The research was carried out on 14 teachers who worked for at least two years in 5 private schools in Karabük province in the 2019-2020 academic year. Data were obtained as a result of face-to-face interviews with teachers. Structured and semi-structured interview forms were used to obtain the data. The obtained data were analyzed through content analysis. In the study, it was concluded that the expectation of parents and institutions in private schools is high, the teachers are exposed to pressure and intervention and the professional reputation of the teacher is reduced. It has been determined that teachers engage in emotional labor behaviors in line with the expectations of parents and institutions, pay attention to the rules of showing emotions during their communication with parents, the intensity of their emotions is high and the emotional disharmony experienced is high. At the top of the superficial causes of behavior that causes more emotional exhaustion and emotional disharmony is that the institutional expectations and the demanding parents who buy the education service are at the forefront of providing parent satisfaction.
