ABSTRACT
Consumers are affected by various factors in the purchasing decision process. One of these factors is consumer ethnocentrism. Consumer ethnocentrism is about how affordable it is to buy an imported product. Although the effects of consumer ethnocentrism on consumer behavior have been examined in the literature, its effects on post-consumption situations have been neglected. In this study, the differences in the effects of consumer ethnocentrism on post-purchase consumer emotions, brand hate and consumer complaint behavior were examined by product groups. Hypotheses were tested with the moderator analysis method. In this direction, data were collected from 400 people using the online questionnaire method. Participants in the study were determined by convenience sampling method. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the effects of consumer ethnocentrism on consumer emotions, brand hate and consumer complaint behavior after purchase, differ according to product groups. It has been determined that in the case of product failure after consumption, when the defective product is foreign, negative emotions, brand hatred and consumer complaint behaviors are higher than the domestic product.
