Determination of Distribution Areas and Taxonomic Properties of Pistacia Atlantica Desf. in Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean Regions

Pistacia L. species show natural spread in the flora of Turkey and P. atlantica Desf. is one of them. This study aims to determine the taxonomic status and spreading areas by examining the differences and variations of the spreading areas of P. atlantica in the Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean regions and the morphological characters of the species. In this study, 62 Pistacia samples were examined. Twenty-five of these samples were found to be P. atlantica. When we considered the data obtained from leaf measurements, it was determined that the leaf lengths were between 88-171 mm, and the leaf widths varied between 68-137 mm. As a result of the examination of the leaves of the samples, the terminal leaflet lengths ranged between 2.5-7.9 cm and their width ranged between 1.2-2.5 cm and the number of leaf pairs was between 26. In this study, it was determined that P. atlantica naturally spreads in Mersin, Izmir, Aydin, Manisa, and Balikesir provinces in Turkey
