Özet
As Turkey goes through a cultural modernization, many religious and Sufistic concepts were started to be used in a decontextualized way. Therefore some concepts which are precious and valuable in the eye of the society are being exposed to the operation of derogation and discrediting. In this work, we will try to draw attention to the concept of biat which was firstly decontextualized and then was used in a different context. Here, we will be analyzing the meanings of the concept of Biat according to the Naqshibandiyya literature and the view point of the Sheik Ahmad Dhiya al-Din Qumushhanawi.
