Üçüncü bölüm, Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul'un sömürgeciliğin kolonyal karakterlerin dili ve kültürü üzerindeki etkisini açıklığa kavuşturan Postkolonyal romanı The Mimic Men'i inceler. Sonuç olarak bu tez, Homi Bhabha'nın perspektifinden, sömürgeciliğin kültür ve kimlik üzerindeki etkisinin bir açıklaması olarak The American granddaughter ve The Mimic Men'de taklitçiliği, melezliği, müphemliği, evsizliği ve Üçüncü alanı inceleyerek sömürgeciliğin sömürgeleştirilen birey üzerindeki etkisini gösteren Bhabha kavramlarını sunmaktadır.
Postcolonial theory analyzes the impact of colonialism on the culture and identity of the individual in the colonized countries. This thesis examined the influence of the colonizer on the identity and culture of the main characters in Inaam Kachachi's The American Granddaughter and V.S Naipaul's The Mimic Men in terms of mimicry, hybridity, and ambivalence which forced the main characters to feel unhomely in a state of Third Space. Chapter one is about postcolonial theory which contains the emergence and definition of the theory and the role of the most important postcolonial theoreticians, and particularly Homi Bhabha and his concepts of mimicry, hybridity, ambivalence, and unhomely in a state of Third Space. Chapter two is the analysis of Inaam Kachachi's novel The American Granddaughter through applying Homi Bhabha's concepts, which illustrates the identity crisis of the characters related to their sense of belonging and the influence of colonizer on colonized's culture and identity. Chapter three investigates Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul's novel The Mimic Men clarifying the impact of colonialism on the language and culture of the colonized characters. In conclusion, this thesis presents concepts of Bhabha, which illustrate the impact of colonialism on the colonized individual, by investigating mimicry, hybridity, ambivalence, unhomely, and Third Space in The American Granddaughter and The Mimic Men, as a description of the impact of colonialism on culture and identity from the perspective of Homi Bhabha.
