In this study, the addition of different ratios of boron to the corrosive wear properties of 4140 steels was investigated. It was melted at 1635?Cin a vacuum induction furnace by adding diferent amounts of boron (2,11,17,26,32,38).The casting of the samples was made to ceramic molds heated to 950 ?C and deformed by 200% and flattened.Microstructure and EDX analysis of 4140 steel samples with low amount of boron added (2ppm) showed no boron element and the structure was composed of perlite and ferrite. As the amounts of boron added increased, BC and BN compounds were formed in microstructure. Tribocorrosion behavior was investigated in a 3.5% NaCl solution with a pin-on-disc method under different loads (10-20-40N). As a result of the studies, it was found that the hardness and tribocorrosion behavior increased with the addition of boron but these values decreased with the increase in boron amount after 17ppm.
