Conversion of Heros of Shakhnama of Firdavsi as an Instrument of Praise in Classical Turkish Poetry: Comparison of Baki and Nedim

Özet
Shakhnama of Firdavsi is one of the most important works of Persian Literature. Besides, it has valuable position between the world classics. It is a heroic saga; hence, a research feeding Turkish literature. Especially, powerful aspects of sultans and other statemen are presented by qasidas and these powerful aspects are identified by heros at Shakhnama. These heros, presented as instrument of praise at 15th and 16th centuries, lost their worth at 17th century. At this time of the period, praised personalities were more valuable than them. This article is a bout conversion of heros of Shakhnama at classical Turkish poetry. In order to carry out this aim, we have chosen two important poets, Baki of 16th century and Nadim of 18th century. At these centuries, these heros were differently perceived. We have searched divans of these two poets, and determined the couplets mentioning the heros. Thus, we have tried to explain how they have converted by centuries.
