Samples were collected from a total of 60 sampling points representing traffic, industry, agriculture, trade and residential areas in different regions of Baghdad. Concentrations of 10 potentially toxic elements (PTE), namely Ni, Cd, Co, As, Cr, Sb, Mn, Zn, Pb and Cu, were evaluated. Mn and Zn were analyzed with an Inductively Coupled Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) device and Ni, Cd, Co, As, Cr, Sb, Pb and Cu were analyzed with an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS). The mean concentration values of Mn, Zn, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Pb, As, Sb and Cd PTEs analyzed were 647,1, 413,8, 147,5, 21,07, 11,49, 10,91, 10,73, 0,0053, 0,0013 and 0,0009 mg/kg it was found in. In the study, the urban area was also evaluated in terms of health. It has been determined that there is no serious health risk for both children and adults in terms of PTE exposure. Cancer risk levels, on the other hand, were found to be at an acceptable level."
