The aim of the research conducted in prospective, cross-sectional, and descriptive design is to determine the knowledge status of nurses working in hospitals in Karabük province regarding current wound care products. The study was conducted with a total of 350 nurses working in internal, surgical, and intensive care units of 1 training and research hospital, 2 district state hospitals, and 2 integrated district state hospitals in Karabük province between November and May 2024. Data were collected using a socio-demographic information form and a current wound care products knowledge form created in accordance with the literature and expert opinion. Descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis-H Test for three or more variables, were used for data evaluation, and a significance level of p <0.05 was accepted. In the study, it was found that 32.3% of the nurses did not receive any training on wound care and products, and the source of knowledge for nurses who follow current information was found to be colleagues (27.4%) and the internet (16.3%). It was determined that 70.3% of the nurses used passive wound closure products, and 2.6% used active wound closure products. The mean knowledge score of nurses for general wound care was 10.36 ± 2.25, the mean knowledge score for passive wound closure products was 4.92 ± 5.02, and the mean knowledge score for active wound closure products was 4.15 ± 3.71. Nurses working in services where patients requiring wound care are present, providing care for pressure ulcers, diabetic, venous, and arterial ulcer patients had higher knowledge scores for wound care, passive and active wound closure products (p=0.00). Similarly, nurses who used current wound care products, had higher education levels, and received wound care training had higher knowledge scores for current wound care products (p=0.00). The mean knowledge score of nurses on current wound care products working at Karabük Training and Research Hospital was higher, and the mean knowledge score for wound care, passive, and active wound closure products was higher for nurses who follow current wound care practices (p=0.00). In line with these results, it is recommended to provide in-service training on current wound care products to nurses working in internal, surgical, and intensive care clinics in the hospitals where the study was conducted."
