Özet
Marmara University has a history of 129 years and there are approximately 65000 students with 3000 educators. The university is the first multi-language educational university in Turkey with its four language options. There are 13 faculties, 9 colleges, 11 institutes, and 31 research centers in Marmara University. It has a great university with its 13 campus that is branched over Istanbul. Goztepe campus is the greatest campus in Marmara University compared to the others. University campus is landed in the area of *119700 m2 in Goztepe and there are 43 buildings that is importantly included Engineering Faculty, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Atatürk Faculty of Education, Faculty of Technical Education, The Faculty of Science and Letters, School of Banking And Insurance etc. Otherwise there are Sport center, Guesthouse, Rectorate building, library and 2 girl hostels in the campus. Before the conceptual design study, detailed information regarding description of the campus, infrastructure, annual electric, water and heat demand covering last 10 years, properties of existing heating plant including natural gas expenses and specifications of the steam distribution pipe network and electricity grid are collected and examined in detail. The cogeneration system is selected according to the electrical and heating consumption of Goztepe campus to meet the electrical and heating needs of the campus. The essential calculations are made due by these considerations. In this study, comparisons of the different natural gas fired co-generation power plant designs are developed regarding different gas turbine co-generation systems for Marmara University Goztepe Campus, and the best power plant for the campus is suggested at the end of study. © Sila Science.
