Özet
Askeri, iktisadi ve stratejik bakımdan önemli bir yere sahip olan Türk Boğazları, İstanbul'un fethi ile beraber Türk hakimiyetine girmiştir. 18. yüzyıldan itibaren Osmanlı Devletinin askeri yenilgilerle birlikte güç kaybetmesi üzerine kapitülasyonlar rejiminin bir parçası olarak boğazlardan geçiş hakkının verilmesi, Osmanlı Devletinin gücünü yitirmesi ve özellikle kuzeyde Rusya gibi bir rakibinin yükselmesi sonucu boğazlar üzerindeki Türk hakimiyeti aşınmaya başlayacaktır. Bir ilgi ve rekabet alanı haline gelen Boğazların statüsü 18. yüzyıldan itibaren ikili veya çoklu taraflar arasında çeşitli düzenlemelere konu olmuştur. Bu tez çalışması 1774 yılında Osmanlı Devleti ile Rusya arasında imzalanan Küçük Kaynarca Anlaşmasından başlayarak 1936 Montrö Boğazlar Sözleşmesi de dahil olmak üzere Osmanlı Devletinden Cumhuriyet Dönemi boğazlarla ilgili anlaşmaları ve bu anlaşmaları ortaya çıkaran siyasi koşulları ortaya koymayı amaçlamıştır. Bu suretle söz konusu anlaşmaları da bir arada vermek ve değerlendirmek boğazların statüsü ile ilgili gelişmeleri krolonojik olarak takip etmeye imkân verecektir.
Turkish Straits, which had an important place in terms of military economy and strategically, came under Turkish rule with the conquest of Istanbul. As the Ottaman Empire lost power with the military defeats from the 18th century onwards, the Turkish domination over the Straits would begin to erode as a part of the regime of capitulations, giving the right of passage through the Straits, the loss of power of the Ottoman Empire and the rise of a rival such as Russia in the north. The status of the Straits, which has become an area of interest and competition, has been the subject of various arrangements between the two sides or multiple parties since the 18th century. This thesis aimed at revealing the political conditions that led to the agreements between the Ottoman Empire and the Staits of the Republic Period, including the 1936 Montreux Straits Convention, starting from the Küçük Kaynarca Agreement signed between the Ottoman Empire and Russia in 1774. In this way, giving these agreements together and evaluating them will alow to follow the developments related to the status of the Straits
