Özet
Powder metallurgy (P/M) is a developing manufacturing method in Turkey and in the world. Electroless nickel coating, an engineering coating method, provides perfect corrosion and wear resistance as well as uniform coating thickness on all sides of the coated parts. Coatability of iron based parts produced with P/M method and effect of porosity on coating quality have been investigated. Porosity amount of samples which were sintered at 1100°C for 45 minutes in Ar atmosphere were determined and the samples were coated with electroless coating method. Coating qualities have been investigated by using adhesive tests. It has been determined that coating amount was increased with porosity but coating quality was decreased.
