University students' attitudes towards environmental problems: A case study from Turkey

Özet
By this research the attitudes of university students towards environmental problems is aimed to be investigated in several variables. The study group of the research are 931 students that attend Karabuk University in 2009 to 2010 Academic year. Survey model is used in that study and as a data collection tool The Attitude Scale of Environmental Problems which is developed by Sama (2003) is used. Beside descriptive statistics, t-test and one way variance analysis (ANOVA) is used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the study, university students have positive attitudes towards environmental problems. In addition, the attitudes of university students towards environmental issues showed a significant difference according to gender and school type; didn't show any difference according to the grade level.
