In the study, easily accessible sampling and quota sampling method were used. The study group consisted of 284 children (142 female, 142 male) and their mothers. In order to collect the data, Preschool Social Skills Inventory (PSSI), Sullivan Preschool Emotional Intelligence Scale (S-PEIS) and Adult Social Skills Inventory (SSI) were used. Pearson correlation analyzes were used for data analysis. It was seen that there was a positive correlation between the mothers' SBS score and the children's S-PEIS Faces sub-test scores. It was seen that there is a positive correlation between the mothers' SBS score with the children's PSSI Academic Support Skills, Friendship Skills, and total scores. As the social skills of the mothers increased, it was found that there was an increase in the understanding of facial emotions understanding and social skills of the children. © 2021.
