The universe of this study was consisted of the high school students of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes in Karabük. A total of 569 students consisted the sample which 342 of them were female and 218 were male. In data gathering, “Secondary School Burnout Scale”, and “Parent Attitude Scale” were used. In data analysis, Spearman’s Correlation Coefficient and Post-Hoc Multiple Comparison tests were used. As a result, it was determined that high school students in the sample mostly experienced burnout at the “burnout from studying” dimension. There were significant differences between students’ burnout levels and gender, class level and school type. As the students’ perception levels of democratic attitudes increase, their school burout levels were decreased. As the parents’ authoritarian and protective attitudes increase, the level of school burnout was increased as well. © 2018, Ankara University.
