In this paper, we propose a new software-based method for detecting and quantifying dentinal tubules using image processing techniques. We compare our proposed method with the Circle Hough Transform, a commonly used circle detection algorithm, and demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. Our method achieves automatic and accurate detection of dentinal tubules, reducing the need for manual measurements and improving the speed and consistency of results. Our findings suggest that our proposed method has the potential to significantly enhance dentin-related research by enabling more reliable and accurate analysis of dentinal tubule characteristics. © 2023 IEEE.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccesscircle detectioncircle Hough transformdentin morphologydentinal tubulesimage processingSEM imagesA New Method for Automatic Detection and Quantification of Dentinal TubulesConference Object10.1109/ASYU58738.2023.102967522-s2.0-85178295748N/A
