This research which is in regard to descriptive survey model was applied in 2016-2017 education period. 500 teenagers who are students in secondary school, 7th and 8th grades, constituted the studying group. Emotion Regulation Scale for Adolescents and Parents Attitude Scale were used to collecting data. Data were analyzed with using Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis H-Test. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to determine the correlation between the scale scores. At the end of the study, it is determined that there is a quite difference between adolescents' sex, number of sibling, father's age and adolescents' emotion regulation strategies. As the democratic attitude of parents increased, it was found that adolescents' internal and external functional emotion regulation increased, internal and external dysfunctional emotion regulation decreased; Adolescents' external functional, internal and external dysfunctional emotion regulation increased as their protective / willing attitudes increased; It was found that as authoritarian attitudes increased, internal functional emotion regulation decreased, and internal and external dysfunctional emotion regulation increased. © 2021.
