For this purpose, ten randomly-selected primary school music teachers and three music education professors were interviewed during summer of 2009. Content analysis method was used for the data analysis. The results showed that the constructivist approach in music education was a new concept for the majority of music teachers in Turkey, and they indicated that they experienced having difficulties administering the new curriculum in classroom settings because they were not knowledgeable about this new approach.
