Öğe A comparison of calculated ?-decay half-lives with photonuclear reaction data and other experiments(World Scientific Publ Co Pte Ltd, 2021) Aygor, H. A.; Cakmak, N.; Almaz, E.; Unlu, S.We try to give a comparison of the calculated Gamow-Teller beta-decay half-lives for K-43, Ca-47 and Sr-85 nuclei with the experimental ones obtained from (gamma,p), (gamma,n) and (n,gamma) reactions, respectively. The calculations are performed within the framework of quasi-particle phonon nuclear model. The nucleon-nucleon interaction potential is included according to Pyatov's restoration method. The calculated decay half-lives are also compared with available experimental data in the literature.Öğe DFT calculations of structural and electronic features for mono and dual Pb-doped models of graphene(Indian Assoc Cultivation Science, 2022) Al-Haideri, L. M. H.; Cakmak, N.Mono and dual lead (Pb)-doped models of graphene were investigated in this work by means of performing density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Coronene was considered in this work as a representative structure of graphene in a molecular scale. For dual Pb-doped models, two conformations of Cis and Trans were investigated by putting two Pb atoms at the same side of graphene in the Cis model and locating two Pb atoms at the opposite sides in the Trans model. The models were optimized to obtain the minimized energy structures, which were confirmed by the evaluated non-imaginary frequencies. Molecular and atomic features were obtained to recognize the effects of Pb dopant on structural and electronic features of graphene for making a comparison for the investigated models. As the main achievements of this work, the models were successfully optimized by better benefits of formation of the Cis model in comparison with the other models. Based on the evaluated electronic features, developments of further applications could be expected for such models systems.Öğe Form factor calculations for some light nuclei in the framework of electron scattering(American Institute of Physics Inc., 2020) Abbas, S.A.; Mahdi, K.H.; Cakmak, N.In this study, some selected states of p- and sd-hells namely 10B, 6Li, and 29Si nuclei were conducted, the transvers and longitudinal electron scattering form factors were studied in consideration of the configuration with higher excitation energy above the cores 4He and 16O. When using a microscopical theory, the effect of high-configuration outside the model space (Core-polarization (CP)) is included. Cohen-Kurath interaction for p-shell, Wildenthal's standard interaction for sd-shell. For core polarization calculations higher energy excitations up to 4 are considering. The addition of CP effects greatly improves the form factors calculations and explains the measured data as dependence of momentum transfer very well. © 2020 Author(s).Öğe Low-lying Gamow-Teller transitions in spherical nuclei(Maik Nauka/Interperiodica/Springer, 2012) Cakmak, N.; Unlu, S.; Selam, C.The Pyatov Method has been used to study the low-lying Gamow-Teller transitions in the mass region of 98 a (c) 1/2 A a (c) 1/2 130. The eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the total Hamiltonian have been solved within the framework of proton-neutron quasiparticle random-phase approximation. The low-lying beta decay log(ft) values have been calculated for the nuclei under consideration.Öğe Measurement of outdoor Radon Concentrations in Soil Samples collected from Karabuk University in Turkey by using CR-39 Detector(IOP Publishing Ltd, 2021) Mahdi, K.H.; Erer, A.M.; Kanbur, U.; Agduk, S.; Oguz, S.; Cakmak, N.In this work, radon gas concentration in (35) samples of soil collected from Karabuk University in Turkey was measured by using nuclear track detector (CR-39). The content of radium, the rate of surface exhalation and the rate of mass exhalation have been assessed. The concentrations of radon were varied from (16.348 Bq.m-3) to (196.988 Bq.m-3). Results indicate that the equivalent content of radium varied from (0.386245 Bq.kg-1) to (4.654255 Bq.kg-1). The exhalation rate for surface varied from (0.002007 Bq.m-1.h-1) to (0.023031 Bq.m-1.h-1). The exhalation rate for mass varied from (0.000319 Bq.kg-1.h-1) to (0.00366 Bq.kg-1.h-1). All the obtained results found to be less than the corresponding limits for the world. Thus, based on the radon gas concentration and radiation, the equivalent content of radium (CRa), exhalation rate for the area (EArea) and exhalation rate for the mass (EMass) in this area have no risk to the human's health. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.Öğe A THEORETICAL DESCRIPTION OF 2?,8-,8- DECAY TO THE EXCITED 2+STATES(Jagiellonian Univ Press, 2022) Unlu, S.; Cakmak, N.We try to give a theoretical analysis of 2 nu,8-,8- decay to the final excited 2+ states by considering SU(4) symmetry restoration within the framework of quasi-particle random phase approximation (QRPA). Pyatov's method is used to restore the symmetry violations stemming from the mean-field approximation. A comparison of the calculated decay rates with other calculations and the corresponding experimental data is given.
