Öğe DEVELOPMENT of IOT ENABLED GLOBAL TRACKING SYSTEM and MOBILE APPLICATION for PEOPLE with ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE(International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, 2021) I°leri, K.; Duru, A.; Karas, I.R.Alzheimer's is a degenerative disease meaning that it gets worse with time. Memory loss, speaking problems, wandering, and getting lost are some of the signs of the disease. The risk of wandering results in high demand for extensive monitoring solutions for the patients suffering from the disease. Tracking solutions are crucial, especially for family members and caregivers, so researchers develop new wearable tracking devices to overcome missing patients. GPS technology can provide location data with high accuracy, but it is not sufficient to use only by itself. Thus, a more extensive solution should be provided. In this paper, a mobile wearable tracking device that can provide data to the mobile application through internet has been developed for patient tracking purposes. © Author(s) 2021. Medical devices, mobile phones, computers, FM radios, and TVs are just a few examples that use different forms of RLC circuits. Although the circuits are very useful for an intended application, step-by-step calculations must be done to analyze the behavior of each component in the circuitry. In this study, a mobile application was developed to catch the difference between two types of RLC circuits, series and parallel, and understand the effects of each components' value change by checking simulation results. © 2021 IEEE.Öğe INVESTIGATION of GIS BASED MOBILE ROUTE PLANNING-NAVIGATION APPLICATIONS for TOURISM ACTIVITIES(International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, 2021) Karas, Y.K.; Atay, L.; Sevinc, H.K.; Duru, A.Mobile devices can be used in many areas such as shopping, entertainment and education. The number of mobile applications which provides information about a city or region, helps to find route by navigation and makes accommodation plans with food and beverage suggestions, is also increasing. Since these devices are portable and have access to internet, they emerges as a new and important potential for tourism sector. In particular, the increase in the use of route planning and navigation applications, which are location based services within the scope of Geographic Information Systems, has also affected the tourism sector. Which route planning and navigation applications are used extensively by tour operators, tourist guides and individual visitors ? What are the strengths and weaknesses about these applications? Answers to such questions were sought in this study. © Author(s) 2021. R.Global Navigation Satellite System is widely accepted and it has good positioning accuracy for outdoor applications. However, it does not provide sufficient positioning accuracy for inside of buildings. Signals are attenuated inside of buildings or dense high building areas because various materials between satellites and receiver create interference to the signal propagation. Thus, indoor positioning technologies have emerged to cover the problem. In this paper, indoor positioning technologies have been investigated and UWB based indoor positioning technology has been chosen between them. In addition to indoor positioning, accelerometer and Wi-Fi connection has been added to the system for mobility. The accelerometer detects emergency cases and alerts relatives of an intended person by using web service. Hereby, remote navigation system design is presented for first aid of the user. The system can detect emergencies, especially falls using the accelerometer and it can locate patients anywhere in the world. The designed system showed that it is possible to detect emergencies and transfer to the web with a 24.17cm average positioning error. Also, it is an assuring system for future remote positioning applications.Öğe A New Method for Automatic Detection and Quantification of Dentinal Tubules(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2023) Duru, A.; Ileri, K.; Karayurek, F.; Karas, I.R.Conventional methods for calculating the number, diameter, and density of dentinal tubules in dentin-related studies rely on manual measurements, which can be time-consuming and subjective. In this paper, we propose a new software-based method for detecting and quantifying dentinal tubules using image processing techniques. We compare our proposed method with the Circle Hough Transform, a commonly used circle detection algorithm, and demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. Our method achieves automatic and accurate detection of dentinal tubules, reducing the need for manual measurements and improving the speed and consistency of results. Our findings suggest that our proposed method has the potential to significantly enhance dentin-related research by enabling more reliable and accurate analysis of dentinal tubule characteristics. © 2023 IEEE.
