Öğe Acid rock drainage, and trace element pollution in groundwater in surrounding of Kurşunlu mine area(TMMOB - Jeoloji Muhendisleri Odasi, 2013) Ekemen, Keskin, T.; Toptas, S.; Ersöz, F.Acid mine drainage occurs as a result of reactions with water and sulphide minerals such as pyrite. As a result of these reactions water gains acidic properties and significant water pollution problems could rise. The study area located in Ortakent (Koyulhisar) has an active Pb-Zn-Cu mining site. The corelation and factor analyses applied to determine mineral-water reactions controlling the chemical composition of groundwater clearly show effects of sulphide mineral bearing volcanic rocks. Sulfide minerals produce acid and groundwater contains high concentrations of SO4 and Fe. Low pH values are also responsible for dissolved metals (Al, Fe, Mn SO4, Pb, Zn) in the groundwater and river. Al, Fe and Mn concentrations in the acidic waters in the study area exceed the limits of Ministry of Health-2005 Standard. In addition, several springs have SO4 and Pb concentrations higher than the limits of drinking water standards. Solid and liquid mine wastes contribute on the trace element contamination of water as well. Geochemical modelling showed that mostly heavy toxic metals in the acidic waters may exist largely in the form of free metal and metal-sulphate. It is understood that the trace elements contained in the groundwater and river could introduce high risks to human, animals and plants.Öğe Data Mining Approach in Repair and Service Systems of Electronic Products Under Warranty(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2022) Ersöz, F.; Merdin, D.The use and management of technology have an important role in increasing efficiency in the service sector. Especially in the electronics sector, which has a dynamic rate of change, technological support of service activities and big data have shown to enhance operational and tactical decision-making processes. In this way, efficiency can be increased by making faster and more accurate decisions in the organization. In this study, the researches covered technical service for the TV repairs in the electronics sector of Turkey by analyzing incoming data to create models and data mining techniques. This work is the only study in the literature aimed at contributing to operational processes by evaluating the only type of product in the electronic repair service sector using data mining methods relative to the type of repair. The results of the research are suggested to increase service efficiency and customer satisfaction from the feedback on sales and production processes with the proposed changes based on repair service information. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Öğe Evaluation of the effectiveness of green practices in manufacturing sector using CHAID analysis(SpringerOpen, 2019) Samar, Ali, S.; Kaur, R.; Ersöz, F.; Lotero, L.; Weber, G.-W.Productivity, profitability and sustainability have become the essence of business survival; thus, modern industrial establishments are turning into frameworks consistent with environmental objectives by adopting cleaner technologies, green practices have ultimately resulting in generation of fewer pollutants. Urbanization and burgeoning technological advancement in different sector within India have brought the concept of green supply chain management, to highlight the importance of responsible consumption and production to maintain environmental quality, reduce wastage and bring out economic growth. This paper aims to segregate the sustainable and competitive performers from the average ones in the Indian manufacturing sector and to understand the degree of the impact of green practices of supply chain management based on their contribution towards sustainable environment. Using survey method, data are collected from 54 manufacturing organizations from Pune Nashik area, and a comprehensive framework of sustainability measurement is developed through successive applications of Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detector analysis, CHAID analysis. This paper is unique as it has applied the concept of CHAID analysis for first time to identify green logistics as main driver to achieve a reduction of ecological damage and improve business performance. © 2018, Springer Nature B.V.Öğe FAILURE MODE AND EFFECTS ANALYSIS AND DATA MINING APPROACH TO QUALITY IMPROVEMENT IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY(Faculty of Engineering, University of Kragujevac, 2023) Yüksel, B.D.; Ersöz, F.It is important to analyze the failures and eliminate their root causes to ensure customer satisfaction and increase quality in businesses FMEA analysis is a widely used method to analyze potential or potential failures. Data mining methods can also investigate the causes of these failures. In this study, it is aimed to determine and eliminate the root causes of failures with FMEA and data mining in a machining company. FMEA and data mining have been applied to improve the quality of the business and eliminate the root causes of failures. IBM SPSS Modeler and Weka programs were used in data mining research. As a result of the research, the types of failures with a risk priority number value above 100 were reduced to an acceptable level by making improvements.C5.0 algorithm, one of the data mining classification algorithms, was applied with IBM SPSS Modeler and the factors affecting the failures of the personnel were determined. As a result of the research, it was determined that the most important reason was whether the personnel were professional or not. According to the classification result made with WEKA J48 algorithm, the most effective factor causing the personnel to make mistakes was determined as the training status of the personnel. © 2023 Published by Faculty of Engineering.Öğe Investigation the biomass in oecd countries and turkey: Comparative analysis with classification algorithms(TUBITAK, 2021) Türkoglu, Elitas, M.N.; Ersöz, F.In this study, energy and renewable energy issues were investigated. The goal of the study; Investigation of energy production in OECD countries is the identification of the factors affecting it. As per the cluster analysis conclusions; OECD countries are separated into three groups. Also; Classifying models were used to analyze the relationship between biomass and waste generation; energy use, carbon dioxide emissions, and primary energy consumption obtained in OECD countries. Regression analysis, correlation analysis, and decision tree analysis were applied. Carbon dioxide emissions have been the most influential variable on energy production from biomass and waste. The findings of the study propose to design energy policies towards sustainable goals. The study confirms the hypothesis that the economic cycle will help reduce inefficiencies in the energy sector, resulting in higher yields based on key factors identified from biomass. According to the literature, an investigation on various factors related to the field of biomass has been made. Also, this study examined and compared three important variables, which were determined differently from the literature, with classification analyzes that were not performed before. For this reason, it is a support for the literature and an original study. © 2021, TUBITAK. All rights reserved.
