Öğe A BLOCKCHAIN-BASED TRACKING SYSTEM FOR UNIVERSITY DONATION(2021-10) Ferwana, Esraa AhmedDaily, thousands of donation transactions are submitted to undergraduate students to help them with tuition fees or student supplies, and over the decades, these transactions were formally carried out from donors to students through intermediaries, but recently a sharp decline in donation operations was noticed because of a decrease of trust between donors and intermediaries, especially after the huge lack of transparency. Hence, the use of blockchain technology to solve the problems caused by poor transparency and loss of confidence in the arrival of donations to the intended recipients was an ideal solution because of being based on a decentralized tracking system and providing full transparency, hence allowing the donor to be fully aware of the steps for reaching his donations and when they reach their beneficiaries. This research aims to design and develop a donation model for university students using blockchain technology to ensure transparency and traceability in the donation process. which the donor can directly submit a donation request to the student without the presence of an intermediary between them. This model achieves both transparency and tracking donations where the donor can directly track the process of reaching money to the student. The proposed model was tested validated using comparing the results with a previous working paper and checking transparency. Finally, it turns out through performance evaluation that the transaction needs time to implement the donation process depending on the characteristics of the smart contract used in the process and the size of the data, so, the more complex the characteristics of the smart contract, the longer the process takes, and vice versa. In addition, the platform officially achieved the main objective of achieving transparency and precise tracking, which enabled the donor to carry out the task with full confidence and guarantee.
