Communication technologies, in particular fifth-generation (5G) mobile phones, are currently developing around the world. Massive multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems are usually used in this type of communication network so that a large number of users are able to connect to the network and use its services. Massive MIMO systems are a good solution for 5G communication networks leveraging antennas to improve communication performance. To increase output communication power in 5G networks, the problem was optimized with the butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA). According to the simulation results, the proposed method outperformed other similar communication methods, such as the Random, SPRS, WGC PD and SPRS+WGC PD algorithms in terms of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and rate of connection of users to the network.en_US
