The World War II left important questions unanswered for political scientists. One of those questions is the causes of stability or collapse of democracy. Gabriel A. Almond and Sidney Verba believe that the answer to this question lays at the intersection of culture and politics. They have done a comprehensive research based on the analysis of five countries (the US, the UK, Germany, Italy, and Mexico). The results of this research were presented in their work 'The Civic Culture' published in 1963, giving rise to the political culture as a theory. The aim of this article is to make a comprehensive analysis of 'The Civic Culture' and the most important critiques of it.en_US
