Objective: The study aimed to examine the practices of mothers regarding the use of supplements, herbs-spices and child nutrition during the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic lockdown in a sample of Turkish mothers. Material and Methods: This descriptive and cross-sectional was study conducted in Karabük province of Türkiye. Five hundred and sixty five mothers with children aged 2-18 participated in the study. For data collection, a questionnaire was used to evaluate the foods consumed by children and the practices of mothers on child nutrition. Descriptive statistical methods, and the chi-square test for differences between groups in terms of categorical variables was used. Results: Eighty-nine percent of mothers had used at least one product to protect their children from COVID-19. While the use of supplements by the mothers was 62%, the use of herbs and spices was 74%. A significant difference was found between the type of product used by the mothers and the state of mothers’ being informed about the use of any product (Psupplement<0.001; Pherbs-spices< 0.001). Conclusion: Especially the mothers who resorted to these products used them without getting any information. In order for parents to access evidence-based information on child nutrition, training given by health professionals in a virtual learning environment is important for mothers to learn proper nutrition practices.en_US
