Öğe Effect of the Reinforcement Phase on the Mechanical and Biocompatibility Properties of PLA Matrix Nano Composites(Polymer Soc Korea, 2021) Evlen, Hatice; Erel, GulcinIn this study, it was aimed to obtain nanocomposite structure with poly(lactic acid) (PLA) matrix and to improve the mechanical and morphological properties of the PLA matrix nano-reinforced composites. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and hydroxyapatite (HA) nanoparticles were used as reinforcing elements. Solvent casting particle leaching method was used for the production of the composites. Thermal characterization and compression test of the composite samples were carried out. Microstructural properties and the phases formed on the surface of in vitro tested samples were examined. As a result of the study, it was observed that nano-reinforced composites with PLA matrix are biocompatible and apatite formation increases gradually every week. Also the highest compressive strength was obtained in PLA/HA samples, while the lowest was obtained in PLA sample. It was concluded that composites prepared within the scope of the study can be used as artificial tissue scaffolds in biomedical and medical applications.Öğe Investigation on the Effect of The Open and Closed Systems(Gazi Univ, 2018) Evlen, Hatice; Erel, Gulcin; Yilmaz, Elif3d printers are modeled on the computer or scanned as 3d is a device that can produce rather quickly as compared to traditional production methods. Factors such as fill rate, layer thickness, extruder temperature, ambient conditions affect the part strength in the Fused Deposition Modeling method which is one of the methods of printing parts in 3D printers. Today, many studies aiming to produce parts under optimum conditions by reducing the effect of these parameters to the minimum are being made. All these reasons are intended to operate in ambient conditions considering performed to determine the effect on the mechanical properties of the product. For this purpose, dimensions of 400x400x360 mm, max. A Cartesian type three-dimensional printer with a tray that can print 160x170x120 mm product can be designed and a prototype has been produced. A total of 54 test samples were printed on the prototype printer using three different polymer materials (ABS, PLA and Power ABS), three different fill rates (10%, 30% and 50%) and two different operating environments (open and enclosed system). The obtained samples were subjected to tensile test and shore hardness test. As a result of the study, it was determined that the samples written in the closed system have lower hardness value and higher tensile strength and% elongation than the samples written in open system.
