Özet
This report presents a comprehensive analysis of the role and performance of inverters in Renewable Energy Systems (RES), with a particular focus on Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) and Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHEPWM) techniques. The study highlights the importance of inverters in converting the electrical output of RES systems to meet grid requirements, and the challenges posed by the harmonic distortions in waveforms produced by inverters. The report further discusses the advancements in Multilevel Inverters (MLIs) introduced in 1974, their applications in RES, and their benefits in producing high power, low distortion sinusoidal waves. Various research works on the performance and effectiveness of MLIs, their topologies, and their applications in RES are reviewed. The report underscores the need for continuous research and development to improve the efficiency and reliability of these systems, and the importance of integrating RES into electrical networks for achieving environmental sustainability. The choice between different inverter technologies and topologies would depend on the specific requirements of the application, considering the trade-offs between power capacity and waveform purity. The report concludes with a discussion on the potential of advanced modulation techniques in enhancing the performance of power inverters and contributing to more efficient and reliable power systems. © 2024 IEEE.
